Hey guys first post in years on here haha. :helpme:

So I just bought my 05 GT and the blower fan speed is extremely low. It barely pushes air out. So I ordered a blower motor and installed it, did not help a bit. Returned the blower motor because that wasnt the issue.

So I replaced the blower motor resistor and it helped a little bit but definitely not 100%.

AC still gets cold, heater still gets hot. I can hear the vents open and close when I change the selector switch.

What should I try to replace next?

Thanks gentlemen. :helpme:

Okay, this is my latest "if it were me..." troubleshooting and your mileage may vary:

All steps are using the referenced wiring diagram page 1

1. Have you replaced the Blower Motor Relay by moving it to another location in the BEC under the hood to ensure you're getting full current flow? If good, proceed.

2. Have you replaced the Blower Motor Fuse #2 to ensure full current flow with the proper 30A fuse? If good, proceed.

3. Bypass the blower motor relay by removing the relay, and inserting a jumper between pin 87 and 30 since I want constant power to the circuit. Proceed to next step.

4. Inside the car, turn the Climate Control Switch to Off.

5. Look at Connector 212 that goes into the blower motor, find pin #2 (ground), and manually ground that wire to chassis without disconnecting the harness. Checking at this point bypasses some of the harness, as well as S211 (Splice Junction). Does motor go to full speed?

6. Following the schematic, do the same thing for Pins 11 (full speed), Pin 8 (Medium High), Pin 10 (Medium Low), and Pin 9 (Low).

What did you find? If everything is working 100% correctly, go to next step

7. Disconnect C212 and check for continuity between the Pins in Step 6 and Chassis Ground by inserting one end of the meter into the pin, the other end to ground and rotating the Climate Control Speed Selector to the proper position. This checks out the Climate Control Module.

What did you find?

By this point, you should have found something. If not, let me know and we'll go from there.

I had the same issue awhile back.. I tried a new fan motor, a new relay, new blower motor resistor.

None of that fixed it so I gave up and took it into the ford dealer. They had to replace the fuse block.

I hope that's not your case because it was 500$

Just a shot in the dark, but have you checked your cabin air filter under the passenger side of the wiper cowl? They tend to plug up and can cause lack of air flow.

Yeah I checked the cabin filter, it needs replaced but its not bad enough to be plugging the system.

Michael gave you ALL the information you needed. The Ford Shop Manuals are very informative.

Last week I had to re-wire my high-speed cooling fan because the BEC melted. After I was done coincidentally my blower motor didn't work. I checked the basics at first and didn't see anything. Turns out I didn't have continuity from pin 30 of the relay to the positive leg of the blower motor connector. I popped off the fuse box and checked wire under the panel and there it was, I had a good connection. In short, I didn't screw the wiring harness into the fuse panel enough and it was making a bad connection.

Moral of the story was the shop manual led me to the problem by using the step by procedure already laid out for you. Good luck.

Problem was resolved, ended up being a lose connector behind the A/C controls
