AC Tube Rings

I have these loose rings on mine also, on the AC system hoses near the firewall. Why are they loose like that? I'm not an AC guy so i don't know.

That is nothing more than an external secondary seal. Once the connector pipes are together, that seal just kind of sits in the groove to keep exterior dirt out.

Those are for use on the assembly line. They have no other purpose.

I was just thinking that in years to come, at car shows some judge will say those are supposed to be there from the factory.
