Lighten up Francis.

Stripes the movie...Francis was going to kill anyone who touched him... or his stuff...

To the Op, my opinion...if you and your wife will be taking road trips and she may want to drive, go for a automatic... the days of the auto's being noticeably slower are over...go for a '13 GT 301 base model w/ tech package... ~28k to 30k. The LED rear lights do it for me.

The day's of autos being slower are over, but the days of driving stick shift being more fun will continue :)

When it comes to money, I'm dead serious. Everything else, not so much.

Money isn't everything man.....just saying. Also I have a mt82 since may 2010 pushing 600whp thru it and mine has been a saint. I must be 1 in a 100 too.

I'm 47 and love the 2011+ cars. I've had a 2010GT, 2011GT and now the 2012GT. LOL This 2012 will be the last one for a long while as it is the color I like the best and is an automatic. No matter what anyone else might say in this thread the MT82 6 speed manuals in these car are pieces of shit period. Getting a good one is probably a 1 in 100 chance. I miss rowing the gears in the 2011 I had but the constant worry it was gonna break any day just wasn't worth it to me any longer so I traded for the 2012 auto and haven't looked back.

Yeah, because after 30,000 miles, modded for most of that time, you just don't have the skills to shift like this? No issues with my MT82 and I bet I drive my car pretty hard compared to a lot of folks.

I have had a 06 and now a 13, Can't beat the stock power of the 13. Get a 5.0 and don't look back. Much better updated interior and ride night and day better than a new edge.

Tom this is your second MT82 if I remember correctly. The first one you had complained about numerous times and it was replaced after you ran over the debri in the road. Ask anyone that knows me and they'll tell you I have no trouble shifting a manual transmission. I stand by my statement 100%. Just look no further than the current threads on this very forum with people complaining of whining, grinding and hard shifting. They are fucking junk.....:asshat:

Exactly. You only hear the squeaky wheels. There was 21,296 GT's made in 2012. How many of those have complained?

I think I'll start a poll thread with votes of love it, like it, it's ok, and hate it... The truth will come out and shut all the whiners up

Yep, it is. The first one was replaced at around 2k miles due to hitting road debris. The drive shaft and the rear end were also replaced due to that incident. It had the same notchiness as the new one they put in. After putting in an MGW shifter and changing the trans oil over to Amsoil, I've had no complaints. My notchiness was mainly when it was cold. But I'd hardly think that would be something to call the MT82 a piece of shit over.

The MT82 makes a lot of noise no matter what. Especially if you've not put in the sound deadening material called for when you install the MGW.

Having said all of that, I think you are misleading in your statements about the MT82. Or perhaps just strongly biased towards not likely them due to your personal experiences with them. I just disagree out-of-hand when people make all encompassing comments like you have here.

I have an 11 and after I swapped out the bracket and fluid the transmission turned a 180. I'm about to buy an mgw so I hope the shifting is as good as the hype. That's a lot of money though I wish someone was local so I could test it though.

How far are you from Panama City Beach or other Florida towns?

Sorry to thread jack, but for you guys that have changed your tranny fluid, is this a DIY job or did you have to take it to the shop to get it done? Even after changing over to the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and bracket, I still feel like my shifter is a little notchy and still hard to shift when it's cold. I may have to try some Amsoil fluid.

DIY. Jack the car up. Drain and fill.
On the first mt82 did it on a lift outside. On the second mt82 on the ground in my warehouse/shop
