I searched around a bit and found that the below have been somewhat recommended for people on a budget. For the same price, foxlake just does work to your stock heads, though probably would gain some more power, but I would like to think that new FRPP heads would be more reliable.

I ordered 127300 with comp springs and ss retainers already and just recently found out that my tuner believes the heads may have taken some damage and should at least be cleaned/inspected by a head builder. I was just going to have my heads ported, but now I think it may be most cost effective and safe to go with the frpp's.
thoughts/recommendations? These would go on an aluminator short block.

I have an 8-9psi pulley on right now, but with the raised limiter it will probably make 10.

The nice part about having a head shop port your heads is you can talk to them, explain your application, and tell them the kind of cams you want to run, ect,. Also port matching your intake/exhaust. I've been debating this route for a while as well, still on the fence. My problem is I hate waiting, so I'd either hafta have a 2nd set of heads to get ported or really know what I want to put on those FRPP's.

+1 for porting the stock heads though.

My honest option if your on a budget don't worry about heads. You can make a lot of power on stock heads. Many people including myself have made over 600rwhp with stock heads. I have a used set of foxlakes that I never even put on due to the fact I never maxed out the stock head. Just my 2 cents money better spent else where unless your going for MAX performance.
