Ok so about a week ago my clutch pedal was acting up sticking down as we all know about. So I take it back to a local ford dealer and they say they fix my car. But now when I get my car back and try to drive it the car wont go into gear for anything. With the clutch pushed down all the way trying to get the car into 1st gear it wont budge, but the car is pulling foward trying to get into gear. So i take the car back and tell them what has happened and that this wasnt a problem before..They say they dont have any one certified to work on ford transmissions...being a ford dealer? Any ways now I got my car back home and turned the car on and its saying service advance track, check brake systems..Also If i try to start the car while its in gear the car will take off without me pushing on the gas. And if it does sit and try to idle it will die, and if i push the gas while its idleing while in gear with clutch pedal pushed in the car dies....Idk what they have done but they have totally f**ked my car up.

Sounds like they tried to bleed the clutch but didn't do it the right way. Could have air in the brakes, that's why you're getting a "Service Advance Track" light. Does the brake pedal feel mushy? Push the clutch pedal, a lot, while parked to bleed the system. I know other people are having a similar issue, but you may want to try this just to get rid of any air. Then of course, take the car back to the dealer and have them fix it, or actually, take it to a different dealer.

I have pumped the pedal several times while the car is setting but I havent tried to bleed the clutch off. The dealer said that the clutch is welded together.. but I dont know how they can say that when they didnt have anyone certified to fix it or work on it. And I havent burnt the clutch once sense Ive had the car so it shouldnt be shot. But i will try to bleed off the clutch and the brakes to see what happens

My car has been in the Ford dealership for over a month because of this issue. It ended up being the pressure plate bolts backed out a little bit and then the dowels snapped that hold the pressure plate in line with the clutch.

My clutch did the same exact thing. It would not go into any gear with the car running. It would start to pull forward as I tried to push it into gear even with the clutch all the way down.

i knew there was nothing wrong with the syncros in the trans because I could shut the car off and shift fine with no hang ups.

You need to get this back to the dealership ASAP and have them pull trans and clutch assembly.

I would take it to a different dealer. They one you're going to doesn't sound like they know their heads from their asses.

It'll be a TSB, and I'm sure it's coming. Ford needs to get the problem figured out, and the parts tested, built and available before they issue a TSB.

It took them two years to figure out the clutch issues on the 07-08 GT500's. Hopefully this doesn't take nearly as long.

meto. .but in the meantime they are spending a ton of $$ on just band-aiding a never ending problem. and we are left w/out our brand new 5.0's for weeks-months. hopefully it will get figured out soon though!

You might get lucky and have a TSB come out for the clutch too. Your SC shouldn't be a problem if there's a TSB for the problem you're having.

I have a feeling this is going to be a VERY common failure.

then why did ford only mention cars built on or before 4/25 in the TSB?

there must be something different about the cars built after

the TSB is ONLY for the pedal issue.. im guessing that since they also put a "before build date" on it that they tried to put a different pedal in the cars produced after whatever build date, however ive seen guys having issues w/ the pedal on cars after that build date to. i havent had a pedal issue at all.. just everything else clutch related.

The current TSB is for the clutch pedal assembly which is a separate issue. This thread is about the pressure plate itself coming loose and sheering the dowel pins. This is the problem I think might become wide spread. It could have been a short run of them not gettin torqued properly, or it could be most of them are eventually going to have this problem. We don't know yet.
