Gotta love Stangs
my buddy les bought HDmlinum's roush a while back, and had 3 cam failures over the course of the first summer he owned it. All that time it was fixed by the engine builder.
The fix was a later head design that uses a spark plug other than an HT0. it uses a normal looking spark plug.
Ever since the car was finished, and given a break in tune, it wouldnt run for shit. It was always breaking down, and fowling plugs. We thought this issue was in the tune, and had another tuner tune the car, but came up with the same issues.
SOOOOOO the decision was made to put in a snow water meth kit. in doing so i recommended that les use some Brisk racing plugs, as opposed to the NGK's he had been using all along.
The plugs were ordered, and with the great customer service from brisk a few just in case questions were asked. One of those being the coil pack color.
It turns out that all this time, the coil packs and boots were the issue. It turns out that the newer heads use a brown coil pack, and a different boot than the earlier style heads.
the main difference is the length of the boot..... the black coils on the new heads wont reach the spark plugs..... leaving a huge gap for the spark to jump......
You would think that the world renowned engine builder/tuner who built this car, and had it apart several times would have noticed this, but they did not, and repeatedly bashed the new tuner and claimed that he didnt know what he was doing.
Long story short, 1.5 years of head scratching finally got straightened out for my buddy yesterday, all because of a GOOD customer service base at Brisk racing!!
