Greg from RET had 3 S197s in the 9s? If he did that's impressive!!

nope,

A 2V with a single turbo 9.0@15X
A4V with twin 61's 9.2@14X
RET car Twin 57's 9.05@155

There were only 2 S197's(not RET customer's), one with a 100 shot ET 11.85, and the MMR car 8.30's but they broke the motor down.....again

Not yet... had a few glitches along the way. First, after the crank came back from the machine shop in early June, Adam went to assemble the engine. But, the main journal clearances were too tight. So it had to go back to the machine shop. That took another 3 weeks or so. So, right before the 4th of July, he gets the engine together. When it and the trans were ready to go back in the car last week, he noticed something not quite right with the converter. So, that had to be shipped back to PI for repair work. As far as I know, it is still at PI, and hopefully it will get sent back to ST next week. Once the engine/trans are back in, and it gets tuned, then it still needs to go to the guy to do the door bars. Hopefully, that work should only take a day (or 2 at most).

My hope is to be back at the track in August! :thumb:

Well hopefully you'll have it back soon...:thumb:

The weather is pretty warm though anyway. I get my car back next friday but I'm not in a hurry to rush out to the track. I'm doing some photo stuff and I'll have Greg dial in the car on the dyno but I'm not in a rush to get to the tracks in the heat. I'll play it by ear and if the weather is right - I'll go. If not, I will sit through August.

Yea, the weather isn't good, but a nice evening at Barona would be good for me mentally. Hell, the ETs can only get better as it cools off this fall.

my thought when having major work done on a car, make sure you allow at least 2x's more time, 2x's more funding, and 2x's more patience for when things go wrong :)

Hope you're back up and running soon!

There is no significant additional cost. Adam is great about giving me a price and sticking to it, unless I change my mind and add something new in mid-project.

And even though the time and patience part is OK with me, the only real disappointment is that we had everything planned out, parts were bought ahead of time, etc. But the issues with the crank and converter were unforeseen... what can you do. But as I've told Adam many many times, I'd rather have it done right, than done fast.

It's been over 9 months since I've been down the track... another few weeks won't kill me.

Glad to see someone keeping the dream alive!!:bigbeer:

I'm chomping at the bit to get my car off the line. If I can hook this thing, I'm expecting some serious wheel hang time...

Eduardo you brought up the cars going low 9's. I am currently emailing Greg to set something up and he said one of those cars went 8.70@157! He sent me this picture of that car.

I talked to Adam this morning, and my torque converter is back from PI. Since Adam is headed up to Famoso this weekend (with his black car set on kill), mine won't be going back together until next week. With any luck though, it *might* see some "break-in" action at Irwindale next week.

I hope so - I'm looking forward to seeing you and Donna back at the tracks having fun again - you two deserve it ten fold!!

Well, it seems most of the ST customers are waiting on the sidelines, but it sounds like Adam has been enjoying his own car and representing nicely the last month or so.

Be nice to see you and Donna again - I will for sure be down for the next combo weekend in your neck of the woods!:bigbeer:
