Any wheel security options for those running ARP 3" studs with Forgestars?

I haven't been able to find the right combo of open ended lugs that provide both security, proper thread pitch and at the same time come with a 17mm head to work with my Vorshlag sourced Forgestar F14's.

Part of me would like to think that the combo of having a 3" long stud and an odd ball size small lug hole in the wheel will offer enough headache for the would be thief to move onto other things but I'm not convinced yet.

I've got the fancy active alarm option from the factory which I believe offers a tilt sensor but to what degree of sensitivity it has I don't know. Can it sense someone letting the air out of a tire to slightly drop the car enough to let the body rest on a red brick so they can pull the wheel?

I've got lots of guns too but you can't be with the car all the time.

I've got insurance obviously but that's only good after the incident occurs.

How much "too long" are the 3" studs to permit the use of a normal McGard lock without bottoming the lug inside the lock? How many threads extend past a regular open-ended nut? I can think of a couple of fairly simple possibilities, but they depend on the answers to those questions.

The Mcgard key itself has the same OD as a 17mm impact socket (I just checked this), so if a 17mm impact fits, fitting the Mcgard key down the lug hole won't be a problem. If the lock fits too deeply down in the hole I can see having to modify either the key or a socket that nominally fits it though.

Find a kit that is solid metal, not the plated kind, and lop off the ends, instant open end locking lugs. You will probably want a tap to chase the threads on the end, as they will can get fucked up.

Had a customer that would do this a couple of times a year at his shop for people with race prepped cars that saw street duty.

Took some measurements and there is 1 1/4" worth of threads extending past the outside face of the open ended lugs.

Flattening a tire I dunno about, but it doesnt take much jacking to trip the alarm.. did it to myself once, parked & locked went in for dinner came back out and started to jack without having need to unlock car. Yep horn to the face.

How about running an open acorn nut and then run a lock on top of it? I don't have the locks, but I put a open nut on and then closed end nuts to protect the threads.

Looks like an option there. Did you use the Cone style lugs or flat face jobbies for the outside lugs? I'll dig around the Mcgard and Gorilla Lug sites to see what lengths they have available.

Open end spline drive lugnuts is all you need.
