Anyone ever heard of a T5 trans swap into a S197 ?

Here is my dilemma...

I cannot run the T56 trans due to a rule in Stock Eliminator that states you cannot have more forward gears than was available from the factory.

I wanted to use the factory S197 3650 but no one makes a SFI blowproof bellhousing to work, and the class requires a SFI BH.

So, for my drag only car that leaves the ultra pricey Jerico or Gforce G101.

My next option leaves me looking at a Gforce beefed up T5 but the shifter location in a S197 is the holdup. A t5 would put the shifter right up against the radio area and too far out of reach.

I only found one t5 shifter relocation setup on the net that looked somewhat decent, but I could not find out who makes it.

Anyone know who makes these ?

Anyone have any leads on someone who has done this swap ??

I think Hanlon or G Force used to make bellhousing adapters for the 3650. Have you tried contacting them?

Right after I posted I contacted Gforce and priced out some stuff.

Then I emailed Bob Hanlon.
He seemed the most knowledgeable about adapting the sfi bh to the factory 3650.

Everything so far looks good, except that I believe with the adapter it will move the trans back in my car too much.

But, at least I am making some progress...

Thanks for the link Tom !

I have been conversing with another Coyote Stock racer and he was the one that told me about the T5.
He runs a T5 with Gforce internals but he has a 4 eye Fox, so the shifter location in not an issue with him.
