Anyone grenade one yet? (Moved - 2011)

So I havent seen much about people breaking these 5.0's yet....though ive heard of at least one reputable person (who was in the musclemustang 5.0 shootout) tossing a rod.

just seeing who's found the limits yet. i know theyre not unbreakable and the rods and pistons are the weak link...just want to see exactly where that glass ceiling is.

Stuck injector washed cylinder.
Detonation on beefcake's motor caused rod and piston failure.
Strictly Performance has grenaded a couple via nitrous.

Believe it was at Englishtown towards the end of last year when they had the shootout.

everyone here thought they blew it since they never when back to the track, but SD's kept insisting that it was not blown

I'm sure they popped one motor but they were spraying a 250 shot to the car at first so im not sure how aggressive they got with it.

I know when I contacted them for a nitrous install quote they told me that I didn't need a window switch for a 125 shot haha...I'll stick to my safety items.

yes.. i remember some else asking if somene has blown one yet and i forgot who said strickly did. then sd came in saying they did not blow it yet and it was still runing

if i rememebr correctly i think it was in the thread were some member from here thought richard at strictly was being shady with his car dyno numbers or some like that

I believe another performance shop killed a built one as well with the failure of an oil pump. I don't want to name names though since some shops get their panties in a bunch since they think it makes them look bad when something fails in their car.

I don't think that's the right attitude since it's the people who are pushing the limits of the engines/cars and finding the weak points that should let everyone know what to expect and what needs replacing.
