I was just wondering about this..not sure I can 100% commit now, but I'm definitely interested. 15 pre-paid orders I assume? Might be time to start kicking this idea around on other forums..

Yea, I figured I'd have to go to other forums to get it the 15 orders. The distribuitor wants to get an order of 30 with 15 of them being pre sold and have 15 in stock to sell. They said that there has been a lot of interest in this item, but they never ordered it.

It looks like it would also work for the GT500 also since they use the same axles and the same diff, just different clutch pack materials.

A guy's experience with Quaife from another board..won't say it's surprising to hear though.

I was recently part of a group buy on custom Quaife ATBs, in our case for Fiat FWD applications. If you go in on this I'd say be prepared for the price to move around a bit and the delivery date to be way later than they tell you initially. I think I ended up paying about £600 - £650 in the end, so a bit more than the initial quote of £450. The number of orders might move around a bit too. Don't be surprised if it goes up to 20 before they'll start production. The copy of the warranty card I have in front of me confirms the lifetime warranty.

I would be down, what price we looking at again?

Yea, $1395 is what they said the price woudl probably be if we can get 15 orders.

I came back form vacation a few days ago, so I'll start goign to the other Mustang forums to see if we can actually get 15 people that will buy the Quaife diff.

One of the main reasons I'm interested in this is because I plan to keep this car for a while and its cheaper to buy one Quaife than 2 or 3 other diffs or to rebuild another diff and pay for removal and reinstallation several times.

Just bringing this back up..are you getting any interest elsewhere?

I was on vacation for two weeks then working quite a few extra hours after I came back from vacation.

I thought I'd be able to get enough interest through a few local ford clubs to get 15 interested buyers, but with the economy the way it is, there weren't many people that are willign to make "major" purchases for their cars. I'm posting info on the quaife diff on some of the other popular Mustang forums and finding out who is really interested.

Yeah I only found one guy who would probably buy two..I was expecting more. The general attitude seems to unfortunately be, "I can get a gear diff for $450, why on earth would I spend $1400?"

I'm going to give it another try to generate interest later this month. With people getting their tax returns and track days starting up in the northern U.S., I might get more interest than I did over the winter.
