Brenspeed sells these along with an off road pipe for $686. O2 extensions costa nother $43 or so.

Do I need the O2 extensions?

For the china haters out there, I hope you never shop at walmart, kmart, or target.

I don't specifically for that reason..buying stuff from China is unavoidable these days, but I don't do it unless I have to. I also work in the manufacturing field, so I may a bit biased; I'm in no rush to move to China (not that I'd really have to worry about that, surely I'd be replaced by 15 people for half of my salary..).

Agreed... but I also don't think it's worth an extra 400.00-500.00 to say "Made in the USA"
I don't blame the companies... I blame the government... but that's for another section of the forum.

Yah I'm considering a set of these since they would end up saving me $500+ over the Kooks.

Just not sure if I need to purchase these O2 extensions or not? Never bought or installed headers in my life.

Tech at brenspeed told me LTs come with one o2 extension but if you have an auto trans you need to two.....so I had to buy a new set, which means I have an extra one.

My stuff came today. This shit looks cool!!! I have decided to install the hf cats too. My car is so freaking loud already with my spin techs.

Go for the savings Riptide!!!

Has mine installed today
Not sure they are true long tubes.... But install was straight forward and fit just fine. A+ on the headers.
That said, the ORX that came with the kit was tweeked so I have a small leak where the the x connects to the rear 02 pipes. I will toss the band straps and get that connection welded up.
The x is also banging against the bottom of the car over sharp bumps.... not sure what that's about everything is tight and is not hitting a thing.
Hmmmm

They are Long Tubes, they're just not full length headers. Full length headers have the collectors ending horizontal straight into the shorty mid-pipe. Normal long tubes end with the collectors an inch or so above the height of the exhaust system, which calls for that little upwards bend.

Most people prefer this type of long tube for clearance reasons. Also, if you were to scrape your long-tubes... well... lets just say you'd rather scrape your mid-pipes than slam-dunk your long tubes on a speed bump or what not.

Well i'm glad to see their headers fit. Because their SLP Loudmouth knockoffs and their Violator mufflers fit like shit. Do not attempt the install of either without a 2lb hand sledge handy.

You mean the M-80's? Or their "Pype Bomb" tip's? I have the mid-muffler system. Their bolt-on hardware sucks balls, fortunately I can weld. I had to modify one of the hangers on the P/S to get the tip alignment centered too. I ended up not using their tips and went with 4"x14" chrome plated 45* wedge cut tips. I think these look cleaner and they made a huge difference in sound over the crappy tips they provide. I'm not too impressed with their axle-back's.

Where did you place the cats? I installed my LTs this weekend only to find out all the pipe on my car except the manifolds were not stock. Now I have shit for pipe from the h back. Dont know if I should order more new stuff or try to salvage the existing stuff. I did not cut the cats in yet. Does anybody make a system that will match up with my pypes LTs with a H midpipe?

Thanks, I will check out their site. Which ones are the loud magnaflows? I know they have a quiet setup and a louder one.

If you end up getting an aftermarket catted mid pipe, you won't have to worry about location, the mid pipe will come with instructions for it. Most shorty H pipes will match up to those LT's, just make sure you call when you order it to be very clear that they aren't full length headers.

As much as I don't like Pypes exhaust hardware, if you want to take the guess work out of it, order the Pypes shorty catted H. They are specific to those LT's. Just make sure you have either someone who knows how to fit up exhaust pipe and weld, or take it to a reputable muffler shop and let them install it. Pypes hardware absolutely sucks monkey sack, and it will need to be welded or it's for sure to leak and rattle.

Thanks for the tips.....have read how their hardware blows. AM even sells upgraded hardware kits! Lol
I found a local shop whom said they could fab the pipes for me. I will have to drive the car with just headers to the shop...gonna be loud as fuck! Hopefully all will be good after tomorrow and the job will be done.

Sorry for the slow response. Mine came with the none catted xpipe and I put the cats in the front of the x right were it bolts to the lt's had to cut and weld everything. Welded the flange with a small amount of pipe to the cat's and test fitted it and spot welded the other side right to the xpipe, then took it all back down and welded the whole thing.

Any muffler shop should be able to do it for ya if you dont want to tackle it.
