for what its worth:

1) ive had a sour deal with HLYWD on the fact that the part was not in good condition, because HE HAD NEVER EVEN SEEN IT BEFORE and he third partied me.
Issue was resolved fully, but i was displeased the item was from a third party and HLYWD sold it without confirming the condition prior to payment.

2) I will agree that anyone selling that many parts should be a vendor.

HOLYWD, so he comes to an agreement with someone for some parts before anyone else, gets them for free, decides its not the route he wants to go and sells them. I have no problem with that.

HOLYWD jumps on a bunch of parts knowing that he won't go that route or EVEN CAN'T due to the CF Intake cover won't fit his 5.0, so he takes parts hoping to flip them back on the site. Not really right but whatever, I know he does a lot of trading and dealing and shit on the side, sling those parts there, not back in the same forum where you snagged them for free. Half those parts he got for free and half the parts he sells I can assure you didn't touch his car, especially the CF Intake cover, so from free to pure profit, and others could have gotten them for free and actually been able to use them.

I could give a fuck less about HOLYWD and what he does, BUT it did kind of strike me as odd, and Kuro, BEFORE he crossed the line with Tom, DID bring up some interesting points none the less.

Ok, I've been on here awhile now, but I don't trade parts here anymore (unless someone needs a set of 08 stock Grand Cherokee wheels and tires, PM me, lol) I wasn't going to say anything, but I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut.

I like Caleb, I've never bought from him, but I've sold to him a couple of times. I don't fault him for the deal with Bruce, and I think Bruce got a little impatient with how he handled this since it was clear in the texts that Caleb was going to make it right and just needed like 2 days. I don't think Caleb intentionally knew he was selling him a bunk part.

However, right is right. From an outside opinion (someone not buying parts here, anymore, at least for now), it is a conflict of interest for the person that is slinging over 300 parts to also moderate the section. And it is a valid point that if he is in fact selling this many parts on this forum that he should be considered a "vendor" (IF HE CONTINUES TO SELL AT THIS RATE)

If he really bought that much stuff, installed it or not, then sold it cause he changed his mind, he needs help. The same kind of help my GF needs with shoes.

Besides there is always more money to be had slinging parts over the internet on a forum instead of local. Buys part A from Craigs, Local Club, etc.... for X amount, then straight to the forum for Y amount or higher plus shipping, gotta inflate that a touch, let's say around $10-$20 or even a little more between getting local and selling here, after 300 or so parts, $6000 or more is pretty good, but I am sure it is higher.

New generation of making a living, supporting mods, earning money of the side or whatever. Everyone is different I guess.

its simply a conflict of interest. there's absolutely no denying it. the potential for problems exist, regardless of a sterling reputation. that's called a conflict of interest and the best way to deal with it is to remove the concerned party from a role that would conflict with the other role (either no more moderating the classifieds or no more selling/buying on this forum).

i haven't read all 16 pages of this nor do i plan to. i know Caleb personally and i met him by trading him rear bumpers and he is a honest guy. i won't comment on everything brought up but i do know that he would NEVER fuck anyone over or prevent others from buy parts that guys are putting up for sale.

he is a friend of mine so i will be on his side, but i can tell you that myself and a few others have had him sell parts for me because i don't want to deal with it. so, some parts you see him sell are for other members. i will say that him being a vendor is silly, he is a normal guy like most of us but just doesn't mind handling parts and people.

i will say that he is batshit crazy about going in one direction with his car and then changing his mind, but he it's his hobby, passion and money, so i can't fault him for it.

again, there is a lot that can be said but he is a honest guy and i know that he would never fuck over anyone. he is a part of the family here and a valuable one, IMO.
