Auto or Stick

Hey Guys,

I am giving very serious thought to buying a 2011 5.0. I am up in the air right now on wether to buy an Auto or 6sp.
I have driven sticks for years, but really have come to enjoy driving the Wife's CL600 (automatic/turbo).

For you guys that own them, please let me know what you think.

it would be a tough one for me too..... i love driving a stick but lets face it those auto's are pulling some impressive times with a power adder.

I enjoy driving a manual but starting to wish I would've gotten an auto. After many times in stop and go traffic for 30-45 minutes at a time then the manual gets old.

I drive in a good bit of stop and go. This car will ultimately have a blower of some sort on it.
I can let my Wife's car be faster than mine.

if you wanna be fast at the track AUTO. put gears in it and it cant be beat.

manuals are fun, but autos are fast.

u dont want a manual with a blower. its cant take it. clutch cant take .

i have had both now.... the m6 was a blast to drive when playing around.. but i didnt find myself playing around as much as i thought i would... plus i go to the track alot.. the abuse from hard launches took its toll on the car.. my grabber blue is an auto and i love it.. i never thought i would have this much fun in a auto mustang. once i put a tune from bbr in it it became an animal.. it barks the tires on the 1-2 shift with ease and the 2-3 shift when on the gas. Ford deff did the auto right this time. also i have the same mods on my auto as i did the m6 and the auto is 2 tenths faster with a 3 tenths slower 60'. dont hesitate to get the auto as it is a blast to drive and you dont have a clutch pedal issue.. or the clutch issue to worry about.

I love banging gears. My 06 was a manual. My 11 is an auto the 6r80 is a great tranny.

Just to calariy....It wasnt a mustang auto vs stick in general question....this was specifically for the '11 5.0, thats the reason I posted it in here.

There has been too many clutch related problems with the '11s for me, I would go with an auto especially reading what Adam at ST said about them in his KB thread.

get an auto - you can shift when you want to, up and down

and go fast at the track

If your gonna track it 100% go auto, gears, stall and SUPERCHARGER.

If its gonna be on the road ANY...just get a stick.

If you seriously hate driving standards...go auto..still do gears, stall and SUPERCHARGER...lol

Nothing like a manual.

You have more control of the car and it makes the car feel more like an extension of
yourself.

And no auto's are NOT faster than manuals.... autos are faster than the
human that is switching the gears
And btw... I have beaten more than one auto in my manual when we were both stock. I get to choose where my shifts are in the powerband

Yes though generally speaking a track car with auto will
get better times.
Street seems to have always been a different story to me.

As far as getting tired of a manual, I just don't see how that is possible!
