I dunno, it looked perfectly normal to me. I deposited it at my normal bank, waited a week, went in and talked to the teller making sure it was cleared. She was new so she got a branch manager to come over and check and he said it was so I pulled the 20k out in cash, then went and paid off my car.

Took over 2 years of court to get rid of it as eventually the bank came after me for it. Even though they recognized it was a scam, they held me responsible for it. Once you sign the back of a check or money order, basically you say you are responsible for it all.

Which is why I will never have a Huntington bank account ever again. lol Cursed that name for years.

Yeah that blows man. I always HIGHLY recommend to people when looking at buying used tuners to get a picture of the tuner powered on showing it's unlocked with a handwritten note with the persons screen name and date.

Some people are crooks and some people just don't know how the damn things work.

You have to be careful on who you purchase from... Stay away from Newbies and pekoe without consistent itrader ratings and history. That's what it's there for to prevent things like this from happening...

did you contact him and give him a day or two to reply? i bought a tuner from a guy a while ago. same thing. locked to his car. i gave him a day or two and he responded and called sct. they still demanded payment to unlock the tuner of 150. he took care of it for me as it was his fault. maybe your seller will do the same if he is a stand up guy. i just hope you gave him a little time to respond and did not come here and kill the guy before he had time to handle it.

Not me, and I dont know him. But he might not have known. When I 'sold' a x3 i had, it showed "5 unlocks left", and yes it was vin-locked to another vehicle. But, having only experience with the X2, which lets you unlock it up to 5 times, I figured the x3 was the same way. Sold/shipped it, it couldnt be unlocked by the buyer, so it was sent back to me and I refunded the money. We both (buyer and seller) learned from that, neither got screwed (other than cheap $5 shipping).

Hopefully it'll work out for you. $150 to have it unlocked is ridiculous as it is.
Good luck.

This forum use to have THE BEST Classified section. It seems to be going downhill very fast with all these fucked up people trying to scam each other.
