So as some may know, my car was rear ended pretty bad back in may, and looked like this...

So i got the car back from the body shop like this...

and i thought everything was all good, however after examining my car some more i've found more and more problems with the paint.

The trunk and quarter panel don't match at all, there's all kinds of swirls and orange peel in all the body work paint

there's even cracked clearcoat that wasn't fixed because "it wasn't on the damaged side" even though the trunk hit it when it was shifted.

the shifted trunk can bee seen here

I'm trying to figure out how to best go about getting all of this stuff, as well as some other issues i have resolved. Just going over the car with my hands tonight i could tell a lot of little things are not the same, the trunk doesn't line up exactly the same, the bumper doesn't line up right, the trunk is hard to close, the quarter window doesn't sit as flush as the original one, cracked clear, mismatch paint, something loose in teh rear quarter that rattles, roof trim doesn't stay down anymore just a lot of little shit.

what do you guys think? am i being too nitpicky or do i have legitimate requests to return my car to the condition it was in prior to the accident?

I'd call the insurance company and let them know all this and then proceed to the Auto Paint and Body shop that did the crappy work:rant:. If this didn't get anything solved, I'd get a lawyer or a Forsale sign, whichever your pocketbook would allow.

When speaking to the person at fault's insurance company, mention neck pain, headaches, and blurred vision............that should get their attention:naughty1::kidding:. LOL!!

Call the Body Shop first, and inform them of the issues, and also contact the insurance company. That way both parties know, a rental car should be provided for you and all of those issues should be taken care of.

PM me if you have any questions or need any tips. I work in this field and know the ins and outs ;)

Yeah you need to contact the insurance company. They are supposed to leave your car to your satisfaction. I work in the field as well.

If the body shop would have done the job correctly they would have blended the paint into the panel with the chipped clearcoat, because that type of color usually needs blending to keep from having two adjacent panels from appearing to mismatch. Make sure they blend to the next panel if they can't get the color to match perfectly.

Call the insurance company and notify the body shop, but I'd personally look to have someone else do the work next time. IMO, they must not know what they are doing if they can't do it right the first time, so find someone who can. I've been through this same crap before and it freaking sucks.

I took my truck in 2 weeks ago to get a small dent fixed from when I stupidly dropped my 5th wheel on the bedrail. They called last week to say it was done, even came and got me. When I saw the truck I was all WTF! Dents were still there, just smaller. I told the owner it wasn't acceptable, fix it right or he doesn't get the job of painting the graphics on my GT. Still waiting on my truck, but I won't accept it half-assed. Neither should you.
