What part exactly are you talking about?

Maybe he has added subframes at some point. Many people did not realizing the rigidity of the new chassis.

I have subframes on my coupe, but i added them seeing how i race the car a lot.

I beg to diffeer for verts, i installed umi full length subframes on my vert, they join the inner and outer frame rail and they defiently stiffened the car up alot.

I am pretty sure he doesnt have a vert, but i could be wrong.

I have a feeling he is actually talking about the stock radiator support brace. Shit is rear tight in there with the turbo piping when you still have the stock support and front sway.

If it is the rad support, time to buy one from granatelli, IIRC I bought mine for like 60$

Yup! I got mine from UPR, we had to ditch the swaybar when installing Luke's hp kit 2 weeks ago and the downpipe is actually resting snug on the rad support, we had to remove it and reinstall it to get the kit on. He is gonna pick up the lightweight piece soon.

That is a oem k-member brace. To my knowledge they only came on verts...


You can remove it if you want. wont hurt much. What does the instructions have you do with it?

Says to put it back in the original spot but the exhaust side piping is in the way.

Yeah unless you want to bend the piping I would just leave it off.

Just installed the Boost Gauge and Wideband.

Only questions I have is where should I run the hose for the boost gauge? I have been searching for it but most of the posts are so old that the pictures have disappeared. Should I just go into the vac line or what?

Also where is the best power source for gauges? So that they come on and go off with the key.

The vac line is going to have to come from the engine bay, unfortunately. Look for holes in the firewall. There is one behind the battery area on the passenger side, but you'll need to remove the fender well liners to get to it.

I had a bunch of stuff that came in at the drivers side of the car. I found a 1" rubber grommet at AutoZone and used a 1" hole saw to cut a new hole in the firewall. Everything on that side of the car runs through that grommet. It's a PITA, but it's nice to have a readily accessible hole in the firewall to run wires through.

You need a 12v accessory line. You can easily tell what is powered on with the car when you turn on the key with a little investigative work. Use a test light or a multimeter and power the car on. You can check for a good one by putting the positive lead on one of the holes on top of each fuse. Be aware, though... some have more "noise" on them than the others.

Just tap the boost gauge into the vac line that goes to the fuel rail. There is a fuse in the passengers side foot well that is on with key on and doesn't lose power during cranking. I can look tommorrow for sure but I think it is the uppermost 5amp fuse kind of in the center. Just check with a volt meter or test light.
