Just a small update: Sold the CBR so I now have the funds to do most of the swap. Ive been talking to Jim over at JDM about the shortblock. I have a set of heads that I bought from a member that are on the way to Rhon at Fox Lake Racing getting built. I will be going with the Comp 127300 cams w/ springs and retainers. I also bought my Innovators West 10% OD crank pulley, 8 rib kit, and a new center dash gauge pod. Starting to get things ordered so Im hoping I can start with the build soon.

Just got off the phone with Jim @ JDM and down payment has been sent to start the build on my 302 shortblock! As soon as Rhon @ Foxlake Racing gets done with my heads, I will have them sent to JDM to have the shortblock assembled as a longblock and then shipped to me!

This is getting exciting, quick!

Thats a decent chunk of change right there. Those guys do excellent work but you pay for it.

yea..at this point, its tough to look at my bank account. lol! I recently had a chick come over that Ive liked for about 3 years now and she saw the Mustang and was all excited and stuff. Said "lets take it out". I had to suck up my pride and explain I blew the motor. She then told me how stupid I was for racing it, but then came inside. Good news is she came over the next day and just told me to get that pretty car off the jack stands and fix it...So now I have a little more motivation to get it fixed. Maybe her build name should be "Kayla" haha

Update : April 6

Started draining all the fluids so I can start working on the tear down. Should be getting my motor in about a month, so figured I would get started. Didn't get as much done as I wanted, but atleast I started. I got the intake, belt, and strut bar removed. Was working on getting the Kenne Bell off but ran into some problems and actually cut my arm open. It cut all the way down to the muscle. I couldnt get it to stop bleeding, and by the time I did, I had to go to my next job.

Here are some pics from today. Looks like the motor and myself both need stitches. lol

You are not working on a car unless you are also bleeding.

UPDATE: April 8

Got back at it and I had Robert (SherrodMustang) stop by to help.

1)Removed Supercharger
2)Removed Intercooler
3)Removed some radiator lines
4)Removed alternator
5)Removed valve covers (heads look good by the way - no damage found so far)
6)Removed Canton radiator overflow and Moroso SC tank
7)Removed some other misc items

Made a lot of headway...Now just to put the cam phasers and the heads. Cam phasers will be used in the new build but with full lockouts with the new cams. My current heads will be sold fully assembled minus the cam phasers.

Here are some pics of the progress!
