Its should make well under 17RWP. Think about the. the boss has much more parts than just this and not much more HP. Why does everyone think this intake manifolds like the best thing since sliced bread? Im going to say roughly 12 RWHP with a good tune, and and aftermarket intake with increased hp from 4200 rpm and up. More with headers and exhaust. I guess we will know tomorrow!

Under I am assuming if we are talking about rwhp, Ford said this intake is only halfway responsible for the 32 flywheel hp increase over the standard 5.0.

EXACTLY.. puttting this intake on isnt going to net us more then 10-12whp IF that i dont think... ALSO the way the 5.0 aftermarket CAI's attach to this intake is going to dissrupt airflow from adding a bend that goes down and then back up vs a contiuous curve from our aftermarket CAI's. I plan on getting my heads ported and getting LT's as well as this intake.. i would think that ALL of those mods working together will really wake this motor up. and IF a good set cams is thrown in at the sametime.. whos to say that 470-500whp isnt possible N/A ?? that would be AWSOME!! add E85 and a 100-150 wet nitrous shot, stronger diff and aftermarket clutch..:popcorneat:

It's actually a 28 flywheel hp difference. Assuming half of that is the intake, we're looking at 12-13ish rwhp. That is, assuming Ford isn't underrating the BOSS 302.

There are a few tricks to getting this installed and I will be sharing those over the next day or two. One important one is that the fuel rails must be set in place on the manifold during installation and not after installation of the intake. Just loosely fit the rails in the general area and then slide the intake into place and torque it down. Also there is also what looks like a purge solenoid on top of the stock manifold that has no place to go on the new one. We have it connected electrically and to the purge hose but not connected to the intake. I am looking into that and will see what it takes to make it work correctly. Overall I am very happy with the product and everyone that walked into the shop today had the same reaction. :allhail::party:

Thanks again everyone,

JJ

Thanks for the pics and write-up so far.

There are a few things I'd be interested in beyond just the dyno #'s:

1. How would the fitment be with the WMS "Ram-Air" CAI? Their unit is a straight on piece.

2. If the L&M Throttle Body is possibly available, does it fit on this intake, and if so, how much more power can be had on top of the intake itself?

3. How hard is it to tune for the intake? Is it a radical change in what has been seen/used so far or just minor tweaks?

I know those are some pretty specific questions to be asked about a part that is so brand new, but I'm all about looking at seeing what can be squeezed out of this stock bullet.

Since you don't own one what diff. does it matter?

It was a joke, because some were concerned about the low end torque benefits...when its obvious by looking at it what part of the rev range this manifold was designed for.
