Bought used car 2 weeks ago. I'm experiencing a minor differential howl under acceleration. I want to open the differential cover up. It appears to be leaking. I want to do a inspection and refill the fluid. I want to order a gasket now, but it looks like to me, this vehicle has been swapped in a GT 8.8 rear end. To me, it does not look like the standard V6 rear end. Any mustang experts here on this matter?

7.5 has a 4 bolt driveshaft flange. 8.8 has a 6 bolt.
I have a good 7.5 assembly. How close to PA/Phlly area are you?

@Juice, it was the 4 flange @86GT351 That is what i'm hoping for and thinking. Thanks guys. I've stopped drive the car 100% until I fill the differential fluid filled up. It's going to happen next month. I'm doing other things on the car. I did wash the rear axle with degreaser and planning to do the service differential soon. I made this forum because I wanted to use paper gasket. I changed my mind and will use the differential sealant in the tube.
