Sorry guys, I know this is old stuff. I think I’ve watched to many vids on this and have myself confused. I’m trying to do the 4 piston brake swap. I have a 2006 Roush and apparently I ordered 2015 GT 4 piston calipers (no brackets)....am I screwed, did I need 2014 GT calipers and brackets? I was fixing to order rotors...order them for a 2015 GT?...there’s several different sizes

trust me guys...I’ve tried to find the answers but right now I’m sitting with a 2006 Roush and 2015 GT non bracket calipers and have no clue if they will fit or what I need to order to make this work.

if it matters in 2002 I bought a brand new GT...power adders, forged, blown motor, tranny issues....I was the Guinea pig trying the new stuff and learning the hard way. Most the reason I bought a 2006 Roush to restore is so this time I could learn from others

To fit the 2015 4 pistons, you need a couple washers to center the calipers to the rotors. You’d need 14” rotors for the S197, 07-12 GT500 or 11-14 GT Brembo. The S550 rotors don’t work in the S197. Just Google S550 calipers/brakes on S197 and you’ll find all the info.

Awesome...thanks!! What was throwing me off was the S197 & S550.....I thought S197 was 2005-2009 and S550 was 2010-present. I know now!!!

For sure you will also need a few spacers for the wheels.

This may help, but since you've already ordered parts, maybe not. BTW, you will need the caliper mounting brackets from an '11-'14 GT to clear the big rotors. I run basically the same set up as a stock '14 GT on my '08, but not the the four piston calipers because they won't fit behind stock Bullitt wheels.

Washers may or may not be needed. When I did the mod with washers my front end shook like crazy. Removed the washers and not a single problem for over a year now. Forgot to add that my car started life as a V6 so it is possible that the V6 spindles are slightly different than the V8 ones.

Possibly. I have not done this brake mod. I got 4 piston GT500 Brembos going on later this year for my 2014 V6. Could have the S550 calipers but wheel fitment would have been an issue. I don’t like spacers.

Brembo Wheels and brakes go together. If other base wheels are used, you will need a spacer of some sort. For me 17mm is minimum and 20mm would be max needed with GT Base Wheels. It would be a lot more for S550 as they are really big.

Plan is to buy LMR wheels next summer. For the winter I have Touren wheels that fit over the Brembos without spacers.

Glad you got it figured out!
6 piston > 4 :) Made it faster too! Weight reduction in my wallet!

Just for reference. S550's stick out another 1/4 inch over S197's. But everything is bigger, so they don't fit well where the S197's might (as far as rims are concerned, especially 18")

That would be 17mm plus 6.5mm. The S550 will need at least a 1 inch spacer.

Yessir I watched that vid prob 20 times lol! I never saw where he used a different caliper mounting bracket and that really threw me off. I could be wrong but I think if you get 11-14 4 piston calipers you need the brackets but not if you use S550 calipers. I was thinking the 11-14’s where also referred to as an S550 so I was reeeeally confused about the bracket part bcz non of the vids I watched on an S550 swap showed a bracket being used. I did get very mad though bcz that vid showed that I way over payed for my used calipers off eBay

Things are also really crazy with a Cluster Swap. I purchased a cluster with the exact mileage I needed from a junkyard for 1/2 of what they sell on Ebay. Then there are at least 4 versions on You Tube on how to do it. One thing for sure, if you use Forscan you must set up the cluster first to take a program and that takes 12 minutes and then erase and reprogram the keys which is another 12 minutes. Both steps must be done. Not clear at all on You tube or even the Forscan forum.

I have ARP racing wheel studs (3") in all four corners so small wheel spacers aren't a problem. I think they're 3/16" or so if I remember correctly.
