In the Coyote pcm, under "axle" you can set TC to zero (from 50), and under "traction control" there is a setting for FWD, RWD, or Ignore. No lying to pcm reqired. Im using SCT PRP.

This is what I was referring to:

[ECM] 44801 - Traction Control Disable: This value is the engine displacement in liters x 10. Setting it to zero will disable traction control.

The default value is 50.

I don't have that other parameter you mentioned though.

I bet its the same thing. Zero disables TC. Is it zero on yours?

I still run mine at 50 so I can use TC if I want. I haven't tried disabling it since I got this fault.

Ideally, I would figure out the cause of the fault and fix it. Can Forscan pull more detailed data, or only a Ford scantool?

Forscan is pretty good, I use it quite a bit.

I'm seeing ER3Z-2C215-A listed as the superseding part number. It looks like those came on the 13-14s. You found that they were compatible with the 2012, right?

Just bolt on and bleed?
Just ran into the same issue on my 12' 3.7 stang. I have a local guy selling the full assembly (pump and module). The code matches up until the last 2. I have Forescan and have no issues reprogramming the module, but didnt know if the s# needed to be identical for it to work. Does any module and pump work with proper programming? Any help would be appreciated!

Replaced just the HCU, cycled the key twice and codes are gone.

So it's not the actual abs module it's the HCU. Is rather it was the module, no brake fluid to deal with.

Any year should work. This one was from a 2014 GT.

When you say no brake fluid to deal with... these are all hydraulic connections though:

Are you saying that you separated the black portion off the replacement unit and just replaced that?

I saved my ASBUILT data from my ABS unit onto my laptop. You go into PATS, Module Initialization, and then click ABS module. It will initialize it through a approx. 12min process and then you can import your ASBUILT data into the new module.

If you just install the used module, you'll get more codes than you started with as the car doesn't recognize it.

Okay, I just attempted this swap.

When I read out the as-built, I was surprised to see only 1 key:

After swapping the module, and going back in there, the key looked identical (016A). I loaded my saved file anyway and chose write. It warned no changes were made, and I just forced the write.

After clearing DTCs, ignition cycling, running ABS self test; I have a new ABS code about an unrecognized component, and the original trouble code (maybe still there because it hasn't properly communicated yet).

Any suggestions?

If it's the same thing that I dealt with, it's saying that the module that you replaced has the wrong vin and needs to be rewritten. I don't know how that works but if you have FORScan, I assume there is a way to do it.
When I had the C1A99:17-8B-Brake Pressure Sensor code, I only swapped the brake pressure sensor instead of the HCU. Much less work and you technically don't even need a scan tool. (Still need to bleed the brakes though.)

I tried to follow the thread to see if that is what you are talking about my apologies if I am misreading. I included a picture of the Brake Pressure Sensor and here's the link to the writeup I did for it. Let me know if that helps or if your problem is different.

Hey, thank you for the reply!

Original issue is the "C1A99:17 - Pressure Sensor Circuit Voltage Above Threshold" code, so it seems plausible that this sensor is at fault.

Now, with the new module: "U2101 - Control Module Configuration Incompatible - Status -8B"

I tried to rewrite the vin, but my modules list only has the AS BUILT version of the ABS module. The VIN number is in the list formatted ABS module, which I don't show.

It was the sensor.

I swapped back to my controller and swapped the sensor out... code is gone.
