Does anyone know if there is full brembo brake kit available for a 2009 mustang GT running with 18”s. I know ford/American muscle offer one but you need 19” to fit and I really like my 2010 GT500 wheels but I desperately need a brake upgrade. Stock brakes are terrible, now running 30% more power so upgrading is a must!

any help is greatly appreciated

what 18s? 18s will work with Brembos if the wheels are manufactured properly, IE - all GT500 OEM or fitment wheels

And here it is in action, 2010, at Chuckwalla International Raceway, east of Palm Springs, California. I learned on this weekend that the rear pads will get worn away in a hurry, if the traction control is active. Makes for pretty good braking, though.

OEM '07-'12 GT500 / Boss 302 / '11-'14 GT Brembo calipers, rotors and shields (or suitable aftermarket replacements thereof) are a bolt on swap. I'm running them on my '05 GT with 19" GT500 wheels but the 18" version will fit over them.

What do you think is the sweet spot for 14" front rotors? They range from $25 each at rockauto up to $400 each for Girodiscs.

OEM Ford. Anything cheaper is junk, anything better is more expensive.

One last question. I bought the 4piston front brembo kit and the rear rotor kit 13.8 rotor, my question is about the rear calipers. Don’t see anyone selling kits with the rear calipers. Is it unnecessary or should I buy like a 2007 Shelby 500 ones or aftermarket ones?

I assume those are the '13-'14 GT500 rear rotors? Those cars used the same rear caliper as every other S197 with a different bracket to make it work with the larger caliper.

I turn my traction control off and advancetrak, and I've still melted the rear piston seals twice on my Roush, make sure you check those occasionally. Luckily I've caught mine before I've gone on track with it. My car is an automatic, no downshifting ability so I believe it's a bit harder on the brakes.

Yes the 2013 GT500’s ones. Kit came with the caliper brackets too
You should be set then. Just mount your existing calipers to the new brackets. I painted my rears black after installing the front Brembos. Makes it less obvious that it's a lame-o single piston slider back there.

Why are you unable to downshift your automatic?
I drive with hand controls, my left hand controls throttle and brake, right hand is on the wheel. I'd have to take my hand off the wheel to shift it.

Here shows me a bit
