broke all 8 plugs!

How much does the Ford Quicklane charge to change them? If they break do they charge you extra hourly?

Nope, they start charging you up the ass. I've read countless stories of it happening.

it was the "break loose" first 1/8 turn that did them. Looking back maybe I should have warmed it up slightly before starting

Just got done w/ mine. It had 47,000 on it. They all came out. 1 gave me a few issues. I liked to do doed on myself when it started creaking & binding up. I have a buddy w/ the removal tool so i just figured if i had an issue it wouldnt be quite so bad.

Got 3 out with the tool so far 5 more to go. The lisle tool seems to be working great so far.

Torque wrench set to 30 lbs and they still broke. Wow. I had to set mine to 55 lbs before they came free. I got lucky and non broke.

I need to do mine. I have 33k on the clock, now for the ones who performed this task, did y'all do it on a cold engine or warm, I was told by a mech to go beat up on the car for a bit and then attempt to change them. Kind of weird huh?

I would like to know this also, the Aluminum heads should exband faster then the steel plugs so you would think it would work. Where can I get a copy of this tsp i and about to install my vortech and will need to change to HT0

Why are you guys using a torque wrench to break the plugs loose? Most torque wrenches are not designed to be used turn counter clockwise.

I removed another set of mine today and all 8 came out fine. Didn't have to warm it up or put any lube on it. Idk why some of them are so hard to get out. I've never had a problem with any of mine

per tsb it says to so you know when you reach a certain torque the plug will break. Torque wrenchs can be used both ways. You can still torque reverse threaded bolts.
