Torque & Horsepower stock block & internals .......

i gota see ur's and jeff car in action SICK!! Bob told me with my stock bottem end 450wrhp idk rather be safe than sorry.
That was really what I was saying in the Post above.

I think any of us that have been around for awhile realize that there are
always going to be exceptions to anything 1-Builder says or does.

But, I also have read many times that it is general thinking that 500 RWHP
for a stock block & internals is right at the edge of "Safe". (With a Safe-Tune)

It is just like those have FI like a Saleen Blower and run a 3.0 Pulley.

Can you do it, Yes.

Is it recommended with a stock block & internals, No.

But, we all know there are people that are doing it.

I think the thing here to mention without getting into a pissing match is this.

Once you get to a certain RWHP like 500 Plus, you are more than likely
pushing the envelope on when your Stock internals are going to "Blow".

And I will add this to the comment on the line above.

Especially, if one is going to the Drag-Strip with Drag Radials and
launching at high rpm.

Street cars like mine even with the 285/40/18 Rear Tires on 10" wheels
are less likely to "Blow" because the tires add the additional (Safety Factor).

They Brake loose on the street surface and therefore the H/P & Torque
is not really delivered to the (Stock-Bottom-End).

But once again as in any (Opinion/Opinions) like mine here there are going
to be others and that is why they are called (Opinions).

I agree that its kind of a crap shoot with these cars and much depends on the tune IMO. Ive seen some that are in the 550rwhp range and the owners cant seem to blow them up no matter how hard they try...then on the other side you see people blowing them at 450rwhp.

All I know is that if mine blows then oh well it will have to be rebuilt.

Like nasty stated before it really depends, alot of guys are blowin them up at 500, that seems to be the number but there are a few out there that are exceeding and still doing ok.

Well said Terry, I plan in stay away from drag radials most of this summer until i can get my clutch, flywheel, driveshaft, and rear built enough to hold the power my motor is making. Not really in the mood to be breaking anything just yet.

Lol ok. You won't lose too bad if at all. I'm setting my up for a conservative 8-10psi and looking for about 500-520rwhp. My drivetrain can't take much more, and I'll most likely be on a torn up clutch and a bad set of tires so you might beat me lol.
