Talked to Chandler from Brenspeed for a short time today and found out why the car is acting so sluggish.

I need to invest into some new spark plugs, a catch can system, and get the car up there to get it dyno tuned.

I figured it was something with the tuning that need to be tweaked, but I guess the spark plugs I got are a bad set. I gapped them to .032 like I was told but I'm gonna go ahead and get myself a set of the FRPP 1-step colder plugs and give those a shot like mentioned earlier by Jeff.

I dont really have a ton of money to be throwing around at the moment so the car is gonna have to live off its current tune and I'm gonna take the PCV Valve line off the drivers side head and and put an oil breather on it and cap off the tube coming out of the manifold to get my by until I can get a catch can system.

So whats left to do on the car is:

UPR Catch Can- $100-$120

New FRPP Spark Plugs - $100

Dyno Tune + Having Brenspeed Check Things over - $400

Royal Purple Oil and Filter - $80

So I'm still about $700 off of the car being ready for the track.....:dead2:

Im in the middle of my Paxton install and the damn thermostat housing adaptor was not included...argh! If its not one thing its two.:mad2:

lol, yeah this thing has been a money pit. I'm surprised they are stepping you up to a 60lb injector with the stock motor like that. The 39s should be plenty. I do recommend the GT500 system regardless but I guess they have their reasons. Are you gonna be running a smaller pulley?
For sure let me know how the catch can works out for ya. I'm gonna try the simple way but he told me the catch can is the safest way to go.

I remember the good ole adapter for the thermostat, then you have to cut your stock radiator hose into 3 different pieces. It looks kinda shitty but it does the trick.

I will be using a 3.33 pulley which is one size smaller than what came on the blower(3.48 stock). My tuner said the 39's are pushing it at anything over 480rwhp and I trust him so I will take his advice and run. Do a google search on Bob Kurgan(Kurgan Motorsports)...he's tuning it.

Hose is already cut and ready to attach as soon as I get the adapter. Tried to get Paxton to next day air it but didn't feel like arguing with the guy this morning.

Did you go with a front mount intercooler?
Yep, thats also mounted. Had to dremel the brackets on the intercooler to get it to fit. Nothing is easy man...

Yeah I had to play with the brackets a little on mine when I got it to make it clear the grille on the front bumper, plus the shipping company bent the shit out of one of my brackets.

With the upgraded boost and what not you'll need the upgraded injectors, Kurgen does a pretty solid tune. He tuned my 02' Lightning.

Guess I should test fit the bumper while none of the piping is hooked up to the cooler...
Are you upgrading the fuel system too?
Will be using a BAP and the 60's. Also will be using a MAFia. FRPP plugs, which are just NGK Iridiums are already gapped and installed.

What does Brenspeed think your problem is? Plugs?

You dont really need to test fit it....as long as the top of the intercooler is flush with the padding that sits on the front frame you'll be ok.

Plugs and oil in the manifold is what I was told....a the tune is a little off. Needs to be dyno tuned.
A car like yours with a built motor and boost is probably more than a little difficult to write an email tune for... Im betting after a dyno tune it will be a different animal.

You'll need the Mafia MAF for the extension, I'm using one myself.

There are alot of little things I need to upgrade on the car to get its full power pontential before I even think about lowering the pulley. I probably need a better intake manifold, and bigger TB, and a good set of cams to compliment the Stage II Heads.

Oh yeah...thats why Im not pissed about it, lol. They have done more than a good job with that e-mail tune. The car actually runs pretty good. I'm very happy with their tuning so far, thats why I'm gonna stick with them.

I saw that in the instructions. It might be a touch higher than the foam, but its as low as the slots in the intercooler bracket will allow. Unless I break the dremel back out... I should just strap the damn dremel to my waist cause it seems like Ive used it more in the past 2 days than the few years Ive had it!

Really....I didnt have to many fitment issues other than that intercooler and trying to get one of the bolts in while mounting the paxton headunit. Wish I lived a little closer, I could come help ya out.
