I'll definitley let you know when I'm heading into the area. Should be in the next couple weeks I would imagine. Just waiting for John to call me and let me know when he is planning on heading up there.

As for the Bullitt, wheels and tires are mounted and I'm driving her around today. Everything is running great and the car basically sits at stock ride height with the drag springs, maybe a little lower. I went ahead and removed the PCV Valve like and capped off the intake manifold and placed a breather on the drivers side head to help with the blow-by until I can afford a catch can system. I might just make one homemade and get an air-to-water seperator from Menards or Home Depot, I should do the same thing.

Looking for 500rwhp and I already told Bob that I know Im pushing it... Im thinking with the 3.33 and the longtubes I have I will be around 12psi.

Looking forward to seeing your numbers. I'd think that you'd be over 500whp with 12 lbs.

My car made 474/412 right at exactly 10 lbs of boost. That was on 18 degrees of timing. One of the runs that my tuner (RWTD) made was 460/425 @ ~5000 rpms but James shut it down because he thought it would have made close to 500whp and would run out of injectors.

Definitely be careful with that 500rwhp goal you have their. Its very achieveable with that Paxton Novi 2200SL HO Kit, but your rods and internals are gonna be at their power limits.
If it blows it blows... Ill talk it over with Bob and Ill also bring the 3.48 pulley with when I get tuned just in case it makes too much power.

It will most likely be a couple weeks till the dyno tune but I will definately post the numbers up and like I just said if it makes too much power on the 3.33 I will have the stock pulley as a backup.

Let me know what kind of boost you put down with that lower pulley. Once mine gets past break in, I'm upping the boost to about 15psi and going for 600-650.

You should be ok. If it breaks, build it better
Agreed, allthough if it does break the car will probably sit till next year.

I will. What pistons and rods are you running? What compression ratio?

You be careful too! Aren't you at just under 500rwhp?

I am at the MAX for H/P & Torque at the Rear Wheels.

For a Stock Bottom-End.

Manley Pro Billet 4340 I-Beam Rods, CP dished pistons, 9.6 compression ratio.... Because I plan on running high boost

Oh really?

NastyStang113

Well, I ain't gonna Swear to it but that is what I understand is the Safe Point.

I'm sure like everything else there are other "Opinions" on this matter.

Mine certainly is not intended to be the Last & Final word on the Subject.

If others are running a lot more I am Happy for them and Wish them the Best.

Back in 2006 people said these motors would blow up with 430 rwhp. The difference between some cars with 530 rwhp and some with 488 rwhp could be little to none. I could add more timing, without detonation or even race gas, and make more power. So in the end it all comes down to a safe and reliable tune, reliable fuel, etc. I don't think anyone can say 488 rwhp is the max though. It seems like the number keeps getting bumped up. I'm not saying my car is going to last forever nor is a car with 488 rwhp. I just think it's silly to toss around a rwhp number when there are way more variables to the story.

OK, I will restate the above comment to this.

The opinion of my builder is that 500 RWHP is what they consider the
Limit they are willing to do a Customer Car.

Mine is 488.53 RWHP so that is 11.47 H/P shy of their recommended 500 H/P Limit for a stock bottom end.

Is that a Fact for Every Builder & Owner out there, I would think Not as you have been kind enough to point out.

Sorry, for the Comment that was Not Accurate and for that Matter honestly nothing more than an opinion of one Builder.

Hope this Post helps to get things back on track.

There are alot of variables that play a role in blowing up a motor, what nasty stated is a very good point, there are some blowing up at 430-450 and others that are pushing the 550 mark and still holding strong. I dont think Terry was claiming that the motors couldnt hold up past 500, its just what he was told by Bresnpeed to be safe.
