Got a C&L racer intake and a custom tune. I do not want to disclose who my tuner was.

I liked his tune but the car did not feel as quick as the canned SCT tune. So I uploaded the canned tune and tuned it for the new intake and my other mods.

It began to act like it was going to die at idle after I gave it gas. If I went WOT then stopped, it would almost die. Uploaded the stock file and it died after I gave it gas..

Uploaded the custom tune and it ran fine, just not as quick as I'd like.

Everything is hooked up correctly and I replaced the Valve cover - intake tube and the same thing happens.

Is it just something he wrote in the tune? Or what else could it be?

Definitely sounds like a tune issue. If it's struggling to keep idle RPM after you floor it, it may be flooding the cylinders or it may be starving the cylinders. Either will choke your motor. I would get in contact with your tuner and explain your situation. I'm sure they've run into it before and can fix it for you.

It sounds like the OP is saying that the car runs fine with his custom tune from his tuner, just not as fast as he thinks it should. I think he's saying he's having problems with the canned SCT tune.

Exactly.

Please describe what you did when you "tuned it" after installing the canned tune.
Thanks.

Selected C&L racer cai, changed axle ratio to 4.10's, and adjusted tire size.

Maybe the canned tune is for the CnL street and not the racer.

There is an option for both.

forget the canned tune, if you think your tuner gave you a less than par tune, then try another tuner. Order a tune from a tuner, and I flat out wasn't happy with it, tried another tuner, and viola! Works and sounds great. PM me for details.
