The ONLY vette I would trade my car for is a Z06. and a zr1 but lets be a tad realistic.
After all the work i've put in this car there is no way I could trade it for anything less than an optioned out brand new black on black on black on black Z06 and that would take a LOT of thinking over.

My advice to you is to put that blower on and tuned then call us in the monin'. you won't be thinking about a vette

I have been debating exactly what you have. Supercharge the stang or buy a c6 with bolt ons and a cam. Only thing with s/c the stang is other crap can brake and then your left with lotta $$$ to cover the damage.

I have gone threw the same debate myself. Even went to a chevy dealer. After all was said and done i ended up keeping my gt.

I would much rather keep my car than a c6 vette.
If i could afford a c6 Z06 then that would be a different story.

that is exactly what I am worried about!!!

yea, our cars can be made to go as fast as a vette, but how long will it stay together? I'm still unsure... i am leaning towards the stang though.

another good thing about the c6 is that you can push 550rwhp and be perfectly safe without having to worry about blowing it up. and yes you can make your mustang as fast but the whole power to weight ratio...the vette is going to win. cant beat a 3200lb car

only the Z06 is that light, the base LS3 C6 is about 200lbs more IIRC.

IMO, just have livernois built you a bullet proof long block, build the automatic up, bolt on a turbo and it'll be bye-bye Z06

I think if I ever get another project car it may be a older C6 or zo6, like say 96 - 04, then maybe put a turbo on it and call it a day.

i see it this way, you had the gt 3 years and now youre tired of it. you want bigger. either gt 500 or NON z06 vette. you will get that non z06 vette and 2 years from now you will be bitching about the fact that you didnt get the z06 and you want to supercharge your LT. i know this because all men know it. we can never have a fast enough car. why do you think these guys at captree have 900+ hp cars for the weekends. and they are NEVER done. any one of us will bitch. show me someone who is happy with their car being bone stock and ill show you someone afraid of their own car. shyt im still kicking myself in the ass for not buying the stage 3 roush at diblasi. but you know what? i have made my car mine. you will be hard pressed to find another like it. one day it will run like a raped ape. until then i can only wait and enjoy the trip. another thing to consider is your future, you want to buy property right? you want to get married and have kids right? these things dont come cheap. in another 2 years your GT will be paid off. you will have a lower insurance premium. more money for your life as you live it. especially since houses/ weddings/ kids DO NOT come cheap. and those are other things you will want to "mod". i say stick with the GT. drop a 6 speed in there and a big ole hairdryer and call it a night. when you finally do blow your bottom end, you buy a bigger stronger one and you will be thrilled with the newer faster car again

96 is a c4 vette, 97-2004 is a c5 vette and they didnt start making a zo6 until 01 and 01-04 were still c5s, c6s are 05+...i think your looking at a c5 with those years

- It’s a hard decision, but if it was easy then it wouldn’t really be a decision. Im thinking in YOUR situation with wanting to buy property and such, I would probably hold off until after you acquire it and see how your finances go. Your house will probably appreciate while your vette will loose value.

Haha, I know nothing of corvettes. I would learn though. One of the guys at work has a c5 with a twin turbo on it and is making over 700hp at the wheels on I think 10# of boost. I know that the car is a beast and I've been looking, they can be had pretty reasonably.

until the z06 sprays a 150-200 shot (which costs far less than a built turbo motor for a 3v), then its "oh shit i just spent $15000 on a motor and this beautiful z06 is pulling on me!!!! DOH!!!!!!!
