I searched the forum and didn’t see anything like this. I daily drive my ’14 6M GT 60+ miles …
In this thread, let’s post up….

• What enhancements make these cars a BETTER DD?
• What adds comfort, what have you installed (or thinking about installing) that you just cannot live without?

I’ll start with examples:
-MGW Shifter, 401a Boot, Boss 302 Knob
-Trans Fluid Swap
-Window tint, to keep the sun out
-LED dome light bulbs

What about you?
What has “made” your Mustang a more enjoyable, more comfortable commuter?

full aftermarket stereo with a 4 channel and mono amp with a 12", cat-back, lowering springs, wheels and done.

im pretty much happy at that point . its a personal choice just like everything else though

Upgraded speakers, window tint, Steeda shifter and shifter support. these are the only "Must Have" daily driver updates IMHO. After that it is all personal preference.... in that category I thought getting rid of the 4x4 look was a must so put in a full Steeda suspension.

I think just swapping out the bracket is perfect for street and on the track. I had a steeda shifter and I hated it.

So far much less has been done than I had planned on (life has a way of getting in your way...)

So far:
- Tint. Helps with the summer heat so much, and looks better.
- LED dome. It's amazing how much better the interior is lit with these.
- Epco shift knob. Epoxy so you don't burn in the summer or freeze in the winter.
- Axle backs. So you can hear that sweet 5.0.

I havent actually bought the MGW yet. I'm now getting mixed opinions because you make the 3rd person to tell me this.

I'm hearing that the looseness of the throw in the OEM shifter actually feels better than the Steeda, Barton, MGW (beacause of ease of effort). They are pretty tight units

So, if you're getting locked out of gears at WOT due to flex and that is the only problem, a barton 2pc bracket will fix that?

LED dome/plate bulbs for sure, along with the trunk bulb. Makes the car so much cleaner looking and actually lights stuff up.
Axle backs and an X pipe to make accelerating off the light that much more enjoyable
Yellow fog tint for the winter/fog driving.

Other than that, it is stock for me. I like the car how it is. I don't drive that many miles a day, but it is my only car.

I can't tell you which is better, the shifter or the bracket... I installed both at the same time. I will say it is night and day difference getting rid of the stock pieces... It is a little stiffer but I have only missed third once since installing the shifter a month ago.

I picked up the sottozero(winter tire) when my stang was a DD and those tires where awesome in the dry and the snow! Things I'd be careful of:

1.) Gears (whine for me), although people say when done right, there is no whine.

2.) Exhaust set up with drone- Side note, upgrading the exhaust hangers is a most.

3.) Cams- I never did cams, so I'll let someone else chime in.

One of the first things I did besides tint was swap out the stock tires/rims for lighter stuff. Free horsepower and if you're into worrying about mileage, lighter is better.

Second thing was the suspension. Driving this Mustang with all the dive and squat got old fast. So Koni STR.T's in all corners, Steeda Ultralight Springs, PHB and LCA's.

Upgraded speakers and a 10" self powered boom tube in the trunk. Plenty for my Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, Country and other music types. I don't need to lose any more hearing than I have already.

After much deliberation, I installed an MGW shifter. I personally didn't have much issue with the stock shifter however, I like a tight shifter that returns to center with authority. The MGW is perfect for me.

A good, quality radar detector. I have an Escort 8500 X50. Has saved my ass many times. Also, a great mirror stem mount for it. Many others have now copied their design. But the original maker is the best IMO. We have a 23mm stem on our Mustangs. Well, my 2011 does. I also got the hard wire kit from Escort when I bought the detector. It was a snap to wire it into the dome lights. It comes on and switches off automatically with the lights.

Everything else is personal choice as are the components you choose to install. I did modify my exhaust, but I believe that to be a personal choice like the color of the car you buy.

Most of mine is preference in aesthetics. I bought a base 5.0 so to dd it I wanted to look better, I bought wheels and brembos and springs.

Window tint on all six because Sacramento is always stinking hot.

I love music but the stock stereo is enough for me.

Also I love the cloth seats, they seem more comfortable to me, but I rather the appearance of leather and have been debating swapping..

I have the same taste in music. I Never know if I want to listen to Alan Jackson or Slipknot. I'm weird. I guess it depends if I want to cruise, or if I'm doing more of a "Spirt" drive.

no lockouts since the bracket...

the mt82 remote linkage is a shit design, why buy a better shit design and spend more money?

I've tried two aftermarket shifters and they both sucked just a little less than stock. Definately not enough to warrant 300+ bones.

Thats my opinion though. Take it for what you will.

Turbo DD, about 90k miles on it (soon to be forged). Every morning when i fire it up @ 0600, im sure that the neighbors curse. Its loud and uncomfortable.

I got a 13 premium m6 to DD. First thing I did was tint the windows, 9 days later I drove through a shit load of what I belive was epoxy.

2nd thing I did was pay to have the car 2 stage compounded, buffed, and Cquarts to protect it from "Road Hazards"

Mod 3 was for me and me alone / fuck my neighbors / I put flowmaster Stainless Super 10's on it. It loud but deep and not raspy. Sounds like sex.

Mod 4 wheels and tires. Loved the stock look but driving in the rain sucked big time.

Mod 5 Police Protection! Put an Escort 9500 ix in the car. Its not cheap, but damn what it can do!

MOD 6. STILL TO COME. FI SOON.

I love driving my car and the looks it gets are nice too. Just cant imagine it sitting in a shop/garage and just collecting dust / polish & wax...
