Cam Phaser. Is this normal?

Bought the phasers used to go into my F150. I know it will snug up a little once bolted to the Cam. Just want to make sure the movement is normal.

I have two new ones here and have just tested them.
One is very similar to yours and the other is tighter.
I would say you are o.k.

That's the way mine were Ray. Be careful putting much force on that reluctor. Until you get it installed, with the bolt through it, the only thing holding everything together are 3 little push pins.

Yea and those pins well snap. Throwing timing and your blood pressure through the roof followed by a list of obscenities

I am going to be the guy who says yes its normal for one that has failed. I wouldn't put that junk on my car. I have replaced two for that very condition due to it causing timing fluctuations.

I had a phaser fail at mile 11 with my new engine...brand new from Ford.
