So I am in the process of putting comp 127200 cams in my 07 mustang, 5,300 miles. I have both cam phaser bolts backed off one turn. Watch the video they are acting entirely different. I didn't have any valve train noise so they seemed to be working.

Should I replace them?

I don't think you should be able to turn that by hand.

Something is wrong in that pass side phaser. There isn't any way it should move that easily, if everything is working correctly.

Thats what I thought. Think I will replace them both.. What is the newest ford #? What about the Dorman aftermarket phasers?

That phaser that you are turning is held by 3 tiny dowel pins. Make sure they didn't fall out into your front cover. Hopefully not!!

Hopefully they are still behind the washer and bolt. If not they have been missing for some time I am guessing. I will look at it later this afternoon. Thanks for all the quick replies!

It's off the pins. The pins are most likely still in if you haven't taken the bolt completely out. Just keep an eye on it when you pull the gear off.

I think I'm going to be ordering that from Tasca. Would bad phasers cause the engine to show numerous misfire codes?
