How would the car act if it had a broke cam phaser? I was told one of mine was broke. The car only has 1,200 miles on it.

it'll run like shit and make a bunch of top end noise if not bend some valves. you'reunder warranty so get it in or just blow it up and get a whole new engine :)

"Defective" cam phaser TSB's made a "clicking" sound with RPM. You can get the TSB online and it has a diagnosis where you can datalog oil temp and wait until it gets to 160 degrees. Hold the rpm's at 1200-1500RPM and see if it's still present. This particular TSB wasn't on cold start, but after it warmed up.

If you BROKE the phaser, the car would be acting up quite a bit. Especially at part throttle/WOT. Idle and extremely low throttle can be unnoticable-moderate symptoms (hesitation/noise).

Ok, thank you. It was running horrible after i installed the long tubes and tune, so i just thought it was the tune. But today i took it in to get the hot rod cams installed and he found a broke cam phaser which he replaced under warranty. So i hope that was the problem and it didn't cause anymore problems.

Thats wierd! The only phasers I have seen fail on a stock car were the very early 05's. Id be searching for a reason why it went.
