Ok, so here is the deal. The car i bought was tuned originally by JDM. I rode in it several times with there tuning in it. The car absolutely RIPPED!! It made roughly 545 hp on that tune.

Then the car was sold, and it was RE-TUNED by a different shop because some changes were made to the car.

The car supposedly has a "safe" tune in it, and now it makes 508 hp

The car was an auto at the time that it made the 545, then swapped to a manual and re-tuned and it made the 508.

I am concerned that the car should be making over 545 now with the manual, and that it may be too de tuned, and not good for the car to be run with this new "safe" tune.

I fully intend on having JDM re-tune the car asap, but they have a pretty healthy waiting list.

I am looking for advice as to wether or not the car is safe to drive the way it is. Obviously i dont plan on making any track runs, or full throttle passes on the street with the car. Im just wondering if you can tune a car that far back and have it still be safe with out doing any damage.

Yes... you can. All they will do is pull boost, timing, and fuel, and make it run perfect in the process.

No issues at all.

It's kind of hard to say without seeing the tunes.

+1 it can be de-tuned by fattening it up too much or several other things , or they could have done it the right way and pulled boost , timing , ect.

do you have a tuner and know how to datalog with it ?

if I'm not mistaken, i met you at Dez while it was getting tuned. When Dez tunes, he tunes for driveability. Take mine, Dez could have easily put me around 600rwhp. But because i drive the car on the street, he didn't want to go nuts with power and make it safe to drive. and trust me 560 is more then enough on the street.

With you, even at 500 is still alot of power. If your looking for just peak numbers, tell Dez and have him tune it for more power. Dez's dyno also ready a little lower too.

Skeeter: you did not meet me at that shop. I bought this car Friday night.

Every one else: no it wasn't the same dyno, it still is running 16 pounds of boost, they didn't change boost levels. Also the shop that tuned it in it's current state did not provide a dyno sheet, so I have no idea what it looked like.

I have an sct xcalibrator 2. Can I log with that?
