Has anyone had to deal with this lately? I am not sure the section to put this into .. My 9 yr old niece died last year.. at the age of 9 yrs old.

My sister said that someone started using her SS# the other day..

anyways...Nothing like going over your taxes and credit to find out someone is using your childs SS# and explain to places all over again that your child passed away..

I would like to Thank S197 members that helped me out when I was going though the whole cancer thing with my niece..

Thanks again

Ryan, I must have missed your original posting on this subject, I am so sorry for your family's loss. Its just not right for children to have things like this happen to them (no one for that matter but especially not children), my thoughts and prayers are with you and family.

I went through it with my Mom and she passed back in 06'. She was in her mid 50's. It still breaks me up sometimes when I think of all the suffering she went through. I'd wish that on no person. My thoughts are with you and your fam man! Talking about it helps to ease the pain as you go on.

I lost my ones cousin when I was 12 to an inoperable brain tumor. She was only a couple days past 1.

Three years ago I lost my nephew, he was thirty days olds, no cuase was ever found for his death.

I know how hard it is to lose someone so young. Its my biggest fear as a parent now. To think some low life pos is taking advantage of her ss# is gut wrenching. My heart and prayers go it to you and your family. Iud like to say it gets easier, but it doesnt, you just kind of get use to the pain.

Cancer is bad. Doubly so when it's a child. My heart goes out to your family.

As to identity theft....those mother F'rs should be beaten for the trouble they cause to innocent people.

I recently lost my older brother to a sudden stroke. He was 38. it is difficult for me when I have great news and want to call him or just go out and hang out.

For my parents it is a different story, they not only lost a child, but there first born.

The only advice I can give is that you continue to use her name. Tell your sister this. Do not refer her as "my daughter, she, her, my sisters daughter, my niece......." Remember Cari in all her glory. Not only will she live on with you, but will help you mend a small part of the wounds.

Sorry for your loss, it does get more bearable, but never forgotten or healed.
