So it's that time of the year to get the car out of storage. Just change engine oil and d1sc like I do every year before I start the car. Battery has been on the charger for 3 hrs. Unhooked the charger and hooked cables to my truck just in case.

At first it didn't even want to turn over. When it does there is a knock every time that I have never heard. Is it possible that the motor locked up over the winter just sitting there.
I have always used amsoil. Or could my battery be so bad that it won't let it turn over hard enough and the knock I'm hearing is the starter on the flywheel coming off the compression stroke. The knock is on the right side.

Try turning the motor over with a breaker bar via crank pulley

Even though the battery may be at 12-13 volts doesnt mean it is taking or holding a charge. Letting a battery sit so long with a tender on it is a good way to ruin it. Go get it load tested at Autozone.

She just started. Apparently the battery was just that bad. But when I put the new one in it turned over hard for about 2 or 3 seconds then fired up. That motor has never turned over that hard before. Everything seems fine no weird noises or anything
