Not a happy camper! This looks disgusting!!!

I will have to call them tomorrow... It would be one thing if this was five years down the road. Not to mention we have to remove the entire front end to even mount them...

And no, those are not water drops... The "Powdercoat" is flaking off like some kids spray paint on an old BBQ...

Original size for those that want a bigger look... http://imageshack.com/a/img34/9355/wdyc.jpg

Cervini is famous for that.

Their grilles are painted by realllllly cheap crappy "paint"

So this will continue to happen if I ask for replacements and I should ask for a refund?

If that is the case... I should just get the cheap overlays from AM and call it a day. At least with those, I have not seen any complaints...

Then when I am ready I will go the Roush route and a new set of lower fogs...

I did the same thing with the lower fog light/CS kit and IMO looks great; I will be sure to include the pics of the CS fog lights when I send you the pics of the Roush upper/lower.

So I called... Spoke with a gentleman named Brett (Friendly and polite). They will call me back. Currently do not have any in stock, but they did offer me a new set once they have them in stock again.

I was honest and said I was not comfortable with that and prefer a refund... Waiting for a call back to see how that goes...

Just installed my Roush rear splitters and the upper factory grill back onto Pepper... Used the new window cleaner tool (Man that makes cleaning the windows easier!)... Still waiting for the return call... Off to work now...

Billet Grille ALWAYS = Chipped Paint/Powdercoat

That one does seem worse than normal. But really, it's a painted chunk of aluminum and you're exposing it to road debris. No surprise that it's getting nicked up, and will continue to do so.

If you love the grille, you might pay to have it completely stripped and then powdercoated again locally. It will probably last longer than THAT, but I still would not expect it to stay nice forever.

Thanks for the info...

From what your speaking to, that tells me tha the only way I will not have issues it to go plastic then?

That is kind of unfortunate. The only palstic one is the roush unit that requires the loss of the factory fogs lights.

I had a set of 20" aluminum rims (Silver finish) I had powedercoated to a mate dark gun metal... No issues two uears later. Look good as new on a 2005 4x4 Tahoe...

Still have not heard back from Cervinis...

Nah. Billet grilles are fine, just be prepared to touch them up occasionally.

But - I really think your grille needs to be stripped, prepped properly, and refinished. It should last a long time that way, regardless if it's finished with paint or with powdercoat. Small touch ups as the miles rack up will not look bad, especially on a black part.

Hopefully Cervini's offers you a satisfactory solution. Good luck.

PS - Painted/powdercoated wheels will last longer than grilles because they're not directly in the line of fire of oncoming objects.

I repainted the stock grill on my 2002 Chevy Topkick work truck using a cheap can of spray paint from the auto parts store and it lasted 3 years before I began noticing any chips. And most of those were due to the plastic grill deteriorating away underneath the paint. To have paint chipping off in a week means they sprayed it with the cheapest crap they could find with absolutely no prep.

Thanks fellas... Understand about direct impacts... Hell dropping a socket can really mess with rims lol...

That said... I mentioned in my thread here... http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108978&page=2 on how the powdercoat felt thin...

I can take a fingernail to either grills and get powdercoat to come off... This is like many have said, little to no prep work. I bet if I took out my power washer I could strip them both...

I did reach back out to Cervinis around 4pm... Brett had not yet heard back from his boss on my request for a refund. Asked to get back with me tomorrow...

That said, I am torn between doing what so many other have done and go Roush grills, or worse, just go back to factory. Or try another manufacturer. I know stuff can happen. But after so many challenges thus far with Cervinis, I am worried about even attempting to use their grill again.

They are making you wait on the decision for a refund on a bad product. That's horrible customer service. Ill be sure to steer clear.

OK... I called back around 11:00am today... They returned my call About 2:00pm. Very nice fellow, treated me fairly. I decided I wanted a refund as there are just to many things that went wrong from beginning to the end. He emailed me a UPS label and was happy to refund my funds once they have the product.

For a temporary fix, I went with the American Muscle Modern Billet Black Grille... http://www.americanmuscle.com/black-grille-combo-2013gt.html

I was pretty amazed at how much brighter my fog-lights had been this morning when I went to the office without the grill in front of them. I never noticed the difference before. I go to the office in the dark most days...

Anyway... Priorities are rims and window tint right now. I will find a long term grill/fog-light combo after those are completed...
