Chain guide broke

It may be worth checking the oil tube pickup for broken pieces as they can restrict oil flow which is a killer on the modular engines. Bore camera works.

I've heard the guides on the 4.6 and 5.4 were prone to breaking
How many miles you at?

It's probably a good idea to replace the timing chain, guides, and phasers at the 150k mile mark as preventive maintenance. I'd also inspect the cam followers & lash adjusters at the same time and replace as necessary.

A new pump, either melling or ford racing would be money well spent while you have it all apart.
