Clearance for Converter install

I have a 6" floorjack and need to know how high up I need to get the car so I can get the old out and the new in.

To get my transmission out from underneath my car I had to use my jack stands extended all the way plus install 8 in. wood blocks underneath them.

Quite a bit, depending on how big you are. You don't necessarily need to take the trans out from in under the car to swap converters, but you still need enough room for you to completely fit underneath. You should have a trans lift as well, since they are very heavy. 18" is minimum. Garage with lift is best. Good luck!

I got 20" jack stands....got under there well for the headers and this aint my first rodeo with a tranny but first with a s197.

How long is the input shaft?
