Clearance question...

Does anyone on here know if the Agent 47 Double Barrel "Max Clearance" strut tower brace will clear a Whipple or Kenne Bell? The description says it clears "plenum covers and superchargers," but for some reason I'm skeptical. I intend on supercharging my car eventually, and I don't want to see money wasted on a part that I won't be able to use for the long haul. Thanks for the help!

You might just want to contact Bryan directly (their customer support guy) and ask if they've confirmed the claim with an actual test-fit. There's a good chance they have, and if they haven't he should be able to fill you in better. He's on these boards under AGENT 47.

I sent him a PM and asked him to respond directly in this thread. I think this can be a good thing for those doing searches in the future referencing exactly which superchargers clear this strut tower brace.

I did some googling of my own and found threads on other forums saying that Procharger (centri), Whipple, and Kenne Bell all do not clear. If that is the case, what's really left aside from the Saleen and OEM blowers like the Eatons?

Would drop motor mounts help any?

I'm getting the impression that our double barrel brace will clear the Roush M90 head unit but nothing bigger like a Whipple or Magnacharger. We use every bit of room under the hood but those M112's do too.

Steeda makes one that is supposed to clear the Whipple.

I read in some other bastige forum that an 05-06 FRPP V6 brace will clear the whipple 2.3 on a GT V8. Can anyone confirm? It's somewhat less dinero than the Steeda part and looks considerably stronger. Link:

As you may notice, FRPP makes no representation of fitment on Whippled GT's.

edit: Looks like Jeg's and Summit source this part for $195 to $205, so WAY cheaper than Steeda...

As easy going as Jeg's and Summit are about returns, might just go ahead and try it. Would appreciate info first, tho.

My two cents: If you like the Agent47 STB and it seems like it miiiiight fit, I'd try it. If it hits, drop motor mounts should make it clear. Both are worthwhile upgrades.

Anyone know if the FRPP V6 brace will fit with the Whipple on a GT? That's the alleged info from 2 sources on the Shelby website..

(edit: been searching a lot and it is questionable if the V6 brace would work; maybe with lower engine mounts, but I'm not gonna do that. Furthermore, seems to be some opinion out there that the one specific Steeda brace for Whipple WILL fit over the Whipple, etc, but WON'T fit under a stock hood)
