What the heck is this clicking sound when I turn to accessory before starting. It sounds like there's a woodpecker in my dash.

Sorry if this has already been discussed...I couldn't find anything about it here and I'm also a new member. Thanks

It's a sticking blend door actuator, and you'd better hope it isn't the one on the driver's side behind the gauge cluster 'cause that's an absolute PITA to remove. You'll find this guide very helpful:

Thanks for the link! Not exactly great news because from the location of the sound, I'm sure it's the one behind the gauge cluster. I recently replaced the blender door on my wife's exploder which required a similar set of skills. If I can get this one changed out, Ford should give me an honorary degree in neurological surgery

Yep, sounds like it lost center.

Playing with the HVAC knobs sometimes stops the clicking but only for a short time… eventually all four will need replacement.

Bye the way when I saw the title of this thread I thought it was another spammer selling porn stuff. Lol ;)

Drop the glovebox and reach up tot eh upper HVAC actuator. Hold your hand on it and hope it's the one that clicks when you turn the key on. Check the link Dino posted. I bought Motorcraft from Rock Auto when I did it.
