the clutch isnt slipping but rather it engages an inch off the floor. It wasnt like that new and its just gotten worse and worse. I do race the car and the clutch grips fine.. this is the only issue with the car that i have had. i know nothing about hydr. clutches.. is it something that bleeding might fix? Maybe the fluid gets hot and creates air pockets? I hope someone here can help me out. I really dont wanna have to take all the nitrous back off the car just to take it to a dealership..lol

how can i provide this info to my dealer?

Well, I let a Tech at my local Ford Dealer drive my car. He didnt even make it about of the parking lot until he said, "yeah something isnt right"

Say another car has had a problem with the clutch assembly. Hell, I'll give you my service manager's number and have your dealer call him for more info if you'd like

ford got the transmission out and discovered the problem..lol

i sheared all the dowel pins off the flywheel.... the release fingers on the pressure plate were in bad shape... the clutch was in 3 pieces... and yes.. still driveable... the dowel pins had been sheared off long enough that the inside of the bellhousing looks like i took a pall ping hammer to it from the dowel beating it.and the pressure plate had ripped thru 2 of teh mounting bolts...

so i ordered:
mcleod rst twin disc and the steel flywheel.. car should be up and running by next friday.

Well it's pretty clear these stock clutches are not going to hold up to any type of power adder or sticky tires at the track. I wish Ford would have gone the extra mile and put a decent clutch in these cars.

i just went to the track last night got four passes and at the fifth pass launched at 6,500 rpm and the pedal stayed in the floor then it work good again to run 12.2 ET . That doesn't sound good so i took the car to the dealer today and the guy just told me that they will need to duplicate the problem. I told him they might not be able to do it because it doesn't happen under 6,000 rpm launch.

Hopefully they done give me shit for racing the car, other way i would get a Honda civic to go work.

But you guys are having problem with the clutch it self right not only the clutch pedal?????

I wonder if my car will need a good clutch too later...

the guys at ford said the pedal on the floor issue is the pressure plate isnt strong enough at high rpm to counter the inertia. so until it slows down enough to push the pedal back up it wont...

so, they will not look into the problem??? I talk to the parts sales here and he told me for made a clutch pedal assembly that comes with a double spring and that is the fix for that issue but i might have some other problem here then. i will see what happen next time i go to the track with my tune and higher rpm.

it may help but ive read where guys with the dual springs still have the issue. mcleod said my new setup is good to 9500 rpm... if the pedal sticks then im gonna have more issues then just the pedal.. haha
