Well,

Recently got my car back from it's 2nd built motor endeavor...used the same place who did the first one though I had my doubts...got the car back and now I'm having a hell of a time getting it in gear. While the car was in the shop I had a big brake kit installed and when I got the car back the pedal felt real spongy...like there was air in the line. I also like I said could barley get it in gear. Me and the shop both thought this was because there was still air in the brakes lines which shares the reservoir with the master cylinder, thats why the clutch wasn't disengaging all the way. Well it turns out the brembo 8 piston calipers have two bleeder screws on the top and the shop was only bleeding one. After they bleed the brakes properly, the brake pedal felt great! but the clutch is still fucked.

My question is what do you think might be causing this? They say they know the clutch is installed properly but I guarantee they didn't check. There is pedal pressure like there always is but its not dissengaging all the way.

Could it be a bad slave cylinder? or a bad TOB? The clutch is a mcleod rst with only 4,000 miles on it. I never do hardcore burnouts or anything. Please give me some insight guys.

Thanks,
Ryan

I believe they beld the clutch again today, and the clutch is a mcleod rst.

Its getting very frustrating :( the pedal feels like it always has but its just a biotch to get it in gear

Could you be a little more specific when its giving you problems? Which gears? High rpm shifts? From stop?

Did you replace the slave cylinder(tob) with a new oem one. I would recocmend that as well as doing the shop vac bleeding process.

bet the TOB isnt disengaging properly causing the clutch to not want to go into gear. Been there done that. Change the TOB!!

Honestly, I would try bleeding it yourself. While it is recommended to replace the TOB, if everything was working perfectly prior to motor install I kinda doubt thats the culprit.

Im not familiar with the rst, but are there shims of any kind with that clutch kit?

Sounds like the shop you use is just about worthless...

on a second thought..tell the shop to fix it haha..sounds like maybe some air got into the clutch system if they didnt bleed the brakes properly. Proper way to bleed the clutch is from the inside the trans...if they didnt know that the hydraulics were all part of one system with the brakes and clutch..then that can tell you they didnt know what they were doing

No shimming with the RST. The install on that is very straight forward, either your shops mech. sucks at life or...... the mech. sucks... I have my RST installed not long ago, got it back with no issues what so ever. Please further explain the exact issue your having.
