Coil overs

Are they a pretty rough ride with a spring for street/drag? Does it depend on the shock? Im thinking im going to get the comp engineering 3 way adj. shocks with the street/drag spring.

Ride is fine, unless you adjust them to low. I have mine lowered 1.25-1.5 in the back. If I go lower, then the ride gets bad. I street drive alot and I like them.

I went with the lakewood 50/50 drag shock----you should have better results with the C/E 3 way adjustable.

ok. The wife is tired of hard bumps and told me to get better shocks. Thought i would just get coil overs while i was at it! As long as its soft for her and firm for me im good. What coil overs did you get and where do you set them at at the track?

H&R has a nice setup. Should I do with those ya think?

My first plan was Tokico struts and the MMR coil overs

Mark, Ken, and I use the MMR setup. I use the lakewood 50/50 shock, Ken and Mark use the QA1 spring and adjustable shock. We are all in the mid 1.4X 60' times, Mark was doing that while spinning the tire and it still went a 1.45 60'.

His car use to come up right out of the hole, come down, unload the suspension, then come up again just a little bit but mostly flat with the tokico's. Now his car transfers the weight and the front stays up till almost the 60' mark. I am going to be posting a video of it leaving the line here in a few minutes---look for it in the video section.

Actually what I am going to do is in the next post I will link an older video on how the car used to leave, and the new video on how it leaves now with the coil overs and the 3 way adjustable QA1.

+1 on the QA-1s. I have their coil overs @ all four corners, having replaced the OEM struts and rear shocks/springs.

I went with the 200 lb. front/175 lb. rears. If you go the QA-1 route, you might want to consider getting their variable rate springs: they'll give you a comfortable ride on regular surfaces and tighten up to "smooth out" rougher surfaces.

Regardless of how you go/whose you go with, coil overs are a vast improvement over the OEM system.

You have the QA1 coil overs on the front?


I was thinking i would go with the Tokico Dspec struts and just do the MMR coil overs for the back

I know who MMR is... I wanted to know what set-up they were running. I'm assuming the P/N 800335 coil over kit, but which spring?

Im getting the drag/street and the comp engineering shocks. i think i may get the straight drag spring though for the track. I'll try both!
