Donny, it's a bit of a cruise, but you may want to talk to Bryan Stepinski at Sutton Ford in Matteson. .
Dave, I did give this some thought but easy button was to buy something.
So I bought the Ford Racing M-9603-MGTB and it is installed now. I didn't see cheesus or burn the tars throught 4 gears but....
Should have bought this 2 years ago. I like data but I don't have any here, this was all about feel for me anyways.
Much improved throttle response, still a slight lag but it is very minor. I don't know about 60 ft/lbs of torque but between the added torque and throttle response those slow autox corners where you should have grabbed first but were too lazy should be less painful now. Actually I was surprised by how much better the bottom end felt, almost like the LS3s I put in everything here at the shop.
For me the biggest thing is engine braking, as in now there is. It wasn't really noticeable under 3K but I made a couple of 3rd gear pulls to about 5K and giggled like a schoolgirl when the car nosed over after lifting. This has been my only significant complaint about the car and now its fixed.
It didn't ping, but it was a short run and it is cool out here today. There are calibrations for 91 and 93 octane, set on 91 now.
Never had a tuner before, didn't realize I could read and clears codes with this thing. That's a nice bonus.
There may be more power out there but I don't care. I could probably get it _perfect_ with a custom tune but for a simple, off the shelf solution that does exactly what it is supposed to do, I couldn't be happier.
