I think this car needs a better intake manifold

^_^

We will try a Boss intake at some point but I don't see anyone needing it with this kit unless they are looking for every last ounce of power.

Does anyone know the track record for a stock engine car?

I know strictly performance in Texas went a high 9 with theirs, but it had a C4 in it. Chris Cruz also put down a solid 9 second pass on a stock motor as well as stock trans.

other than that, I don't think anyone has gone faster with stock parts.

was Strictly's car a stock block? I thought of them first as well, but didn't post it, I had a recollection that it was not a stock long block

I'm almost positive that VMP was stock and stock trans and went 9.79 at the shootout.

The reason I ask is I thought the record was lower for some reason. But if it's really 9.79 depending on how things go tonight I may take a shot at that on the stock converter and 19's up front.

If it goes 9's on 10 psi (what I'm running first) then I will turn it up to 13 psi and see what happens.

I am pretty sure Manny / HPP went 9.9@138 with his car. IIRC, it is all stock minus a blower and Drag Radials. Don't hold me to that.

And yes, I know VMP went in the 70's on the stock motor.

Speaking of Coyote Powa.....WOW. This thing is making big power now....

at the 5.0 shootout i went a 9.83 and vmp went a 9.79 which i believe is the fastest a stock engine - stock tranny has gone. good luck i'm sure you'll do just fine.

Manny's setup is:

2011 5.0 Bone Stock motor
3.6 KB Polished blower kit
Monoblade TB
1 7/8 Headers, Full 3 inch exhaust..Magnaflow Street mufflers (quiet ones)
Stock Auto Tranny, Stock Convertor
18" drag radials
E85
recently it made 872rwhp, 740rwtq

It went 9.91@138 when it made 760rwhp and 660rwtq

That's why I asked if you know him, as he may have some E85 tuning tips for you.

I think you will run that 9 no problem.

You were asking if I know him? I know who his is and have talked to him via PM but that's about it.

I've been tuning on E85 for a really long time.

I'd be interested to know what boost level it took to achieve those numbers and also how long it lasts. I don't think stock engines with superchargers will last at higher power. You run into some serious crank issues when you push them.

Yet another reason for turbos :)

I found it. He was running 15 psi to make 760 rwhp. Makes sense. That blower robs a lot of horsepower.

Good news and bad news. It ran 10.23@139 on the first pass but I think we broke the oil pump

Not surprised, guess that L&M motor is going in sooner then expected.

Great MPH, good for,9.8s IMO

Yup. We will build this one and continue stock engine development with the next car we do
