Oil analysis is the best way. Oil will gain moisture over time so unless the car has been vacuum sealed and in storage, it will have collected water. Water leads to oxidation/corrosion so, unless you plan on driving it, save the oil but if you may occasionally take it out, change it, better yet, get it tested then change it according to their recs.
