31 Spline Detroit trutrac for sale. I bought it off a forum member who had about 3K miles on it but never had it installed. Reason why I am selling it for so cheap is because the installer said it wouldn't work because it had been machined on. I live in a place where there are only a couple shops so I'm not 100% sure if he knew what he was talking about. After talking with the original owner he said he never machined it and would take it back if I wanted. I wasn't really worried about it and talked to other people who said it comes from the factory like that. I had the intention of going to another shop and having them put it in but never got around to doing it. Its been sitting in my garage for 4 years now so I figure I'd just sell it and whoever buys it can figure it out. Worst case, have eaton rebuild it since I'm selling for so cheap. Also has a ding on one of the bearings that is pictured but that doesn't really matter considering you'll be changing that particular bearing with one that comes with the gear install kit that you'll need for installation regardless. $200 shipped, non negotiable since this is priced to sell.

Just wanted to note: I am the original owner of this trutrac. I bought it brand new and installed it without any issues. I drag raced the car (My old 3v) every month or so and the trutrac performed flawlessly, without fail.

I decided to change out the gear set and while doing the installation I noticed that some chips from the carrier housing had broken off. I called an Eaton tech to see what exactly was going on and even sent quite a few pictures to him. He looked at the pictures and told me that this type of chipping is not uncommon during drag racing situations as the load placed on the carrier housing at those points tends to blow them out. He said to keep on running the carrier as it wouldn't affect the performance or functionality of it and I did. It ran great for the short while I had it, but decided to put the car back to stock to eventually sell it and pick up the GT500 I have now.

The potential buyer for this trutrac can rest assured that when this item left my hands it was in stout working condition. Buy with confidence!

Jason, I'm not sure why the installer would claim that was machined on and say he couldn't install. Makes no sense to me as that is clearly not machine work and plus it has nothing to do with the installation process.

I may actually end up buying this back from you at this price and put it in my GT500. If it is still around in a couple of weeks, I will send you a pm. GLWS bud. If anyone has any further questions about the background on this feel free to contact me.

Thanks Albert, like I said, I wasn't too worried about it. I believed you over the shop. I really wanted to put this unit in my car and I know it's been awhile since I bought it off you. I just havnt had the time between other projects, deployments, and training excersises I have to deal with. I get out of the Army in the Fall after 7 years and I'm moving back home so I need to get rid of some things unfortunately. I kinda want to bump the price up a tad now lol but I'm not that kinda guy. Someone's is getting a deal.
