Door lock not working

Hey guys I can't seem to figure this problem out so if anybody can help it will be greatly Appreciated. I've got a 2006 mustang gt my door locks work while I'm inside the car. When I get out and hit the lock button on my fob it won't lock the door. I open the door and lock it from the inside and it will sound the horn and lock like its suppose to, or if I put my key in the door and turn it it will let the key fob work but pops the trunk anybody had this issue or know what it could be thanks

When was the last time you replaced the battery in the fob?

About a year ago. I thought that could be what it was but I just figured it would just die its done that for 4-5 months

Or the contacts in the fob could be dirty or worn out.

Was probably a bad battery when you got it. Drug stores like Walgreens are infamous for selling antique batteries as new.

If the other buttons work fine, its not the battery. Worn out remote.

Yea the unlock and trunk work great just the lock part. Ill look into a new fob and battery lol worth a try thanks for the help guys
