dynotech install question

Pardon the newbage here. Never done a ds install before.

So what's the deal with this thing? It is advertised as being a simple unbolt the stock and bolt this in.

It comes with a whole new pinion flange. Isn't it actually easier to install one of the other shafts that has an adapter that fits the stock flange vs. having to completely remove the stock flange and replace it?

This writeup here makes it sound like you want an impact gun to get that pinion nut out. I don't have that. I also don't have a gear puller.

Yeah with my powerhouse driveshaft I just needed to bolt on the adaptor ring and thats it. That link looks to be a little bit of a pita

This is what I get for not doing my research apparently. I realize this isn't a HUGE deal but I was looking to make this install as simple as possible. And the way this shaft is advertised... Kinda misleading I guess. The ones with the flange adapters are easier to install than this thing.

Most parts houses will have a rental tool program... and you should be able to use a cheater pipe and a breaker bar to get the nut off... I hope you have a lift available... lol

This is my fault for not doing my research and I don't blame anyone else including who I bought it from. The only thing that pisses me off is the way these are advertised as being "simple" un bolt the old and bolt in the new. When in fact the types that come with an adapter are going to be easier to put in than this type which requires the whole flange be replaced.

The dynotech is a little different than in that link. I did the dynotech on jack stands and it was not bad at all. You don't need a gear puller or any kind of special tool. I used TacoBill's other DS writeup and it all went fine. There's nothing to fear about the dynotech install.

spydershaft install accomplished on rhino ramps and jack stands...gear puller was cheap at autozone and i did mine without an impact gun as well. breaker bar and a (27mm IIRC) socket is all it took

I've got the Steeda. Found out the driveline shop will do the install for $50. I'm just gonna have them do it then. They'll even check the preload as part of installing the new flange.

If they had wanted much more than that I would've done it myself.
